NEW PUPPY DAILY ROUTINE - I have designed this daily routine in such a way so that your puppy stays happy and balanced. I have shared some different ways to do activities like walking, playing, and feeding too. With that, I have also shared some valuable tips which might help you to condition your puppy, as a new pet parent.
Morning Walk:
Our new puppy daily routine begins at 5:30 am
This is the perfect time to stick to. Because, during winters around this time you can see outside, and during summers also you can follow the same. (Plot: your puppy is sleeping inside his open crate).

For a small puppy, 1 hour of the walk is sufficient. For a big dog, you can walk him for 2 hours.
One thing to keep in mind is that before 14-16 weeks, or before completing the puppy vaccination course, don’t allow the puppy to interact with other dogs. The reason is that a puppy’s immunity for some viruses like, parvo or distemper is not developed.
Eating:
After completing the walk, when you come home, this is the time you give your puppy its first meal of the day. Providing food after exercise means that you share your happiness because your puppy has followed you during your walk. So the food that you are providing also acts like a Reward.
Playing:
But wait! As your puppy has just eaten his food, this might be the time to take him to pee or poop. So after 5-10 minutes of eating, take him to his spot.
Remember: A puppy goes to pee/poop after eating, after sleeping, and in between playing.
Once you come back, take the puppy to any open space at your house. Like a terrace, garden, or backyard. There, you can play with him for some time. Toss a ball, or bring any of his toys that he likes. As the puppy just came from a walk, he might not play with full intensity. So you can simply sit with him, and spend a lovely time.
The main goal for this playing session is to make a puppy ready to rest for the grooming session.
Grooming:
Why we are grooming after playing is because, a puppy may not like the bathing or nail cutting, or simply won’t allow you to touch its intimate areas. But due to a long walk, and a playing session, the puppy will not have enough energy to fight you, run away from you, or avoid you. So the only option left to him is to surrender for whatever you are doing.
Grooming consists of different activities like brushing, bathing, nail clipping, etc. With that, it also includes general inspection of eyes, ears, nose, or paws to make sure that no problem is initiated. So all these things you can do at this particular time.
Let him be:
The whole day you should not, and you cannot do different activities with a puppy. So bring him inside the home to just let him be. If he wants to sleep, he can go to the open crate, if it’s his eating time, feed him. If you feel like he wants to go to fee and poop, take him out.
Playing:
If you find your puppy a little jumpy, and you are also free, then you can again have a small playing session with him.
After taking a good quality rest, your puppy can play with full energy. You can toss a ball, or play with a tug toy, or anything your puppy likes.
Training:
Training may include basic commands like name, yes, no, sit, down, stay, come, and heel (obedience). Or if you want to go a little higher, you can teach some fancy commands like a rollover, HiFi, jump, etc) You can also train him for agility, where he has to jump various hurdles, crawl through hurdles, go inside tunnels, and weave pole too.
Afternoon Walk:
The main purpose to walk at this time is to make sure the puppy drain excess physical energy and can properly sleep the whole night without whining or barking.
