I didn't expect to see people dropping from the sky like that. I only came here to see this because I was thinking of joining the band in the future. That was honestly insane, certainly unexpected, but it kept you watching.
Great show! I know that band 'cause they went to my hometown in 1997. Purdue is unforgettable for the people from my town. (San Cristóbal, Venezuela) Greetings!
Very good band. Love the fast pace of the show. I saw them in person for the first time at the Music City Bowl. They received a standing ovation from the Auburn fans.
Oh... so sad. 1 Not so crazy about the new black jackets the band are wearing. They've been around for awhile, I suppose? 2. So the band did not form the shield for I am an American. I hope that's not a permanent change. 3. This was to accommodate the parachuters. Hmm. Anyway, Boiler Up!!! Wootwoot!
Hey Aaron. Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you'll be back in the traditional jackets. They just shout AAMB to me as does that beautiful shield formation. It was just a shocker to not see it. I love the band ever since my daughter marched for two years only due to very bad knees. We were season ticket holders: 1995-96, 96-97, very good years. Boiler up!!
Could be me...but it looks like the Marching band is getting smaller and smaller. It's like a newspaper. Long ago it was big and fat. Today you get a wee phamplet.
Purdue, biggest BIG Ten band and only BIG school with no music school/majors, first marching band formation ever, first to be invited to perform in China, first to carry BIG flags, first invited to lead Macy’s Day parade in NYC, first to play opponents fight song, nearly a century of leading Indy 500 (largest same day sports event in the world), first man on moon alum, and more. And Illini?
