The first singer is Jesse Leach. He started with the band when they first came out. He had to leave for personal reasons. The second singer is Howard Jones. He took over for Jesse. Then he left for personal & health reasons, they brought Jesse back & there's been a debate between fans about who's better, Howard or Jesse. Well, in my opinion it don't matter anymore.

This type of music is known as Metalcore. It mixes the style of metal music and hardcore punk. Its common to have the contrast of clean singing and scream also

When I heard this the first time I straight up cried because Jesse and Howard sound amazing together and to me the song is the essence of reaching out for strength from your fellow man, and both guys are the living proof of coming back from depression. Killswitch is an amazing band and anything you can check out would be awesome!

Ha, glad you liked it. I would recommend the songs "Holy Diver" to hear Howard as lead singer and "My Last Seranade" when Jesse was lead singer. (Jesse is back as current lead singer now).

In Due Time, My Curse, Rose of Sharyn, Strength of the mind, The End of Heartache, Holy Diver(Dio cover), Hate By Design, Always, The Crownless Kind(featuring Chuck Billy from Testament), My Last Serenade, - these are some of the tracks you should check out from all three eras of the band (Jesse era 1>Howard era>Jesse current era) amazing band live as well who i have seen 5 times now, my mother came with me to Iron Maiden(the only metal band she likes) which had KSE supporting and she loved them immensly even though she normally does not like any harsh vocals. a very talented band who deserve much more attention in my opinion

If you love it this much without having never listened to them before can you imagine how the fans felt when both vocalists appeared on screen (I may have squealed like a girl) because Jesse (the 1 with hair) was the original vocalist before leaving the band for mental health reasons, which lead to Howard becoming the vocalist before leaving a few years back (I believe it was to do with his diabetes) and then Jesse came back after that and now we get a duet

As a KSE fan, when this song dropped I lost my shit when this song came out. Both guys are great singers and i appreciate both of them.

Please watch "my last serenade" which was the 1st big hit gro them with Jesse (before the mowhawk), followed by either "my curse" or "end of heartach" which were big hits off thier followup album with Howard singing. It will show why all the KSE fans have gotten so hyped up over this song.

An older band, started in late 90's I believe. Jessie is the original and current singer. Howard (Make Tyson) is a past vocalist and highly missed by some fans. This is a special song because of the collaboration and it kicks ass! If you want more Jessie - My Last Serenade, All in Due Time and Hate by Design. More Howard - End of Heartache(ALBUM VERSION), My Curse & When Darkness Falls.

Killswitch are great, they have so many good songs but I think one song that gets overlooked that no one does reactions too is "Lost" which is a Howard Era song, as for a Jesse era, early I'd go "My last serenade" or "life to lifeless" and from the newer albums...I'd check out "in due time" also Jesse and Adam(the main guitarist) have another band called Times of grace, check out "strength in numbers" and then as a comparison "The forgotten one" These guys are all packed with talent man

I love the signal fire! Its awesome how they brought back Howard Jones too! He was the singer for Killswitch Engage of my day. My favourite song with him as lead vocals is My Curse. Really shows off his vocal range, definitely recommend it as a reaction!

I felt the same when I first heard killswitch engage. I was 14 and was obsessed for the majority of my teenage years.

Killswitch Engage formed in ‘99, their first album released in 2000 but they properly broke through with their second album Alive Or Just Breathing In 2002, these two albums had Jesse Leach on vocals (original vocalist who has returned to the band since 2012 and they have released 3 amazing albums since). The black guy is Howard Jones who was their vocalist during Jesse’s departure and they released 3 albums in Howard’s tenure with them. This track and video cements the close friendship that they all still have and it’s fucking great. Howard has a new band called Light The Torch and they are fucking great! Check them out!

Man, I've loved them since back in high school, 2001. They got real big in 2004.

They've been around for 20yrs or so. It's just Metalcore doesn't get the commercial love on basic radio, t.v. or traditional outlets. It's in part why so many fans of the genre react so positively when someone new discovers the music and gives it a chance! I literally found your channel just because you did a Killswitch video! The last time I saw them live was right after Howard left... he left right after I bought the tickets... I was sad... until I found out Phil Labonte was filling in. I still have my philswitch engage shirt even though I probably can’t get my belly in it anymore 🤪. I’d love to see them again now so I could say I’ve seen them with all THREE singers.

You need to check out Rose Of Sharyn it’s incredible and My Last Serenade, you can hear both singers alone 🤘🏻 This band has been around for a long time and Jesse singer with beard was their first vocalist, then Howard bald head took over for a long time and now Jesse is back. Jesse left for depression issues and Howard left because of his diabetes. So basically this song, brings us fans full circle to see both of them together on a song it’s just MAGIC 🔥

The reason there are two singers in this song is because one is the new singer for the band and the other is the old singer for them. It’s amazing to watch them do a song together with the band. On another note, another day another reminder, god hates us by avenged sevenfold live at the rock am 2011 you will not be disappointed

Killswitch Engage have entire albums of bangers. It's not all perfect, but it's hard to recommend songs cos they have so many bangers. Off the top of my head: Always, In Due Time, Hate By Design, It Falls On Me, Bite The Hand That Feeds, The End of Heartache, My Curse, Rose of Sharyn, The Element of One.

Welcome to the killswitch engage army lol ya they are a older band. The guy that started the song was there first singer but he left over mentally health if I’m not mistaken and the other guy singing is there second singer and I think he left because he wanted to do something else and the first came back after he got everything in his live together and I’d have to say they are a really good band and both versions of the band are amazing but a bit different from one another.

Howard jones(mike tyson) as you called him actually has just as good of a singing voice as jessie. They sound a lot alike. My love for killswitch is 100% renewed!

Where have they been? Not sure what you mean. They never went anywhere. They've been putting out great music for the last couple decades. Speaking of old bands putting out killer new tracks, you should check out As I Lay Dying - Blinded. Just came out a couple days ago and their new album drops next Friday.

KSE has been around 20+ years and to many they are known as the godfathers of metalcore. I just love how Adam is so versatile and just one big character on and off stage...search for adam dutkiewicz on the price is right.....and you can see his personality in this video with his hawaiian shirt and guitar painted with a big pizza on it....as far as the debate between Jesse and Howard....I like them both equally but def like Jesse slightly more now than from their first album and I think that is because of his improvement and that he quit smoking and such and is just just more well rounded. I would go back and do a song from Alive or Just Breathing and then progress through the discography.....for as long as they have been around they are always able to come out with such killer riffs and catchy songs without really changing who they are or their sound. Pretty impressive actually

People sleep on Arms of Sorrow because it isn't nearly as hard, but if you want a perfect example the range of Howard's cleans..
