When South Africa was still nice, we weren't expose to drugs, human trafficking, crime etc. When Johannesburg was a real CBD eish I really miss those day 80s and 90s.
@@dothadance1 nothing compares to apartheid, hence its classified as a crime against humanity(similar to the holocaust), it was a brutal and treated black people inhumanly. but I understand frustration about Hillbrow.

You know that is such a vivid description, and it's true... It once was, the streets were clean, the road surface was smooth, all the street lights used to work
But the production of this song is something else yho.... pure magic . Vocals ✅ Beat ✅ Melody ✅ Backing vocals ✅ Everything is on point Anyway I am marking the register for 2023
Growing up listening to this song , wearing Christmas clothes playing with firecrackers ,eating sweets ,life was so beautiful evrything was perfect, so wish things could go back to normal in this hardships of life
Would you love to go back in time and play with firecrackers while wearing Christmas clothes? I think every generation looks back in time when they didn’t pay bills.
For those who don't know, the lead singer in this particular song is Mr Mokoena, unfortunately he was taken by God a few years ago... he was featured by Brenda Fassie in the song NOMAKANJANI🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can't remember the year but I vividly recall memories of my mother dancing to this song a few weeks before she died, myscrip mum Leaving a comment so that am reminded
Nostalgia. This song takes me back when i was young. My mother loved and still loves this song. She would be singing it all the time....my favorite part was when she would look at me with her smile as she sang that part of " ngithanda wena wedwa ". Love you ma.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the Log Drum that influences the modern day Amapiano sounds. The New generation is standing on the shoulders of giants, cos this song more than 30 years old.
Been searching all over the net for this song for over 20years now, finally found it in 2021. You have no idea the kind of memories this song brings every time I listen to it. Bless you man!!!!
To think I grew up sleeping on the couch in a one bedroom shack this playing on the "record" player With my mom(single parent home) in the bedroom! If only I knew back then the lyrics of this song would be hitting this hard right now! WE NEED TO APPRECIATE OUR MUSIC MORE SOUTH AFRICANS💔💔💔 In case you're wondering, I'm a '84 baby
These were the days when kids could play out at night with parents not stressing about rape, kidnapping and people could take long walks , neighbours were families , the whole village was a family, but we got our democracy and there disappeared away freedom of humanity. How I miss those times …… I’m glad I got to experience a bit of it, sad for the next generations…
Yoh, 2023 we're still listening to the song, truly timeless. Reminds me of all the childhood memories, Christmas in a farm near a small dorpie between Bloemfontein and Kimberly called Petrusburg.
This song took me back in the days, i didn't even understand the words at the time, but these are songs our folks used to listen to, it brings back the feeling of nostalgia, i love this song
The composition, arrangement and delivery here is something else.. Sizwe Zako and Peter Mokoena are too special... All the best childhood memories flood back😊🤩
Just needs a brave dj😅 I'm feeling it too, what brought me was seeing a old school Mac daddy in Golf 3 GTI - all black - with the system jumping, playing this song 😅
I remember watching this video in the early 90's on ZNBC, our national broadcaster. Life was good in Zambia back then unlike now. Ubuntu is completely dead and gone 😭😭😭
