The classic VIBE series is the best sub £500 guitar on the market period. Especially the Tele. Squier have really nailed it with this series.

@@fender1000100 not even close to true. They are decent but if you do some research you'll be shocked. Sterling ct50 is the best guitar for under $500 currently. They are incredible I'm every sense. Also g&l legacy series is better than the classic vibe

I bought a Squire for my grand son's 16th birthday. That was 17 years ago. When he joined the Mounties about 5 years ago, he left it with me. I just picked it up to play for the first time in about a year. It's still in tune. It's very playable and sounds great. I was always impressed by it.

@@BigBSinclair I still like it a lot and it’s overall great for the price and It looks, feels and sounds great but I will admit that I had some issues. The bridge that came in the guitar was somehow partially damage in shipping which made it somewhat unplayable. I ended up replacing it with a fender bridge which sounded much better than the stock one and wasn’t too difficult. I did have to do a bit of searching as well for the proper trem bar that match since the squier trem bar was too large to fit the fender bridge. I think I was just a bit unlucky with the one I got but I still think the guitar is really worth the money you should definitely buy it!

I have seen so many Squier Strats and have modded some for students with better pots and a proper switch. Often, that is all you need to get going. Played a Classic Vibe Jazzmaster today and was really impressed. It felt more lively than the US Modern I tried a few weeks back. I sometimes think Fender overthink their modern models in an attempt to make a more middle of the road version.

i've been using this guitar for my gig over a year everyday trust me guys this is one of the best low budget guitar in the market. You get vintage sounds of course but compare to modern sounds i think i like vintage more. it gives you smoother sound and kind of nostalgic modern sound if you use with modern amps or pedals. This guitar is worth buying !!!!

They really are but the problem I see is you can get mim fender for a little more money. Definitely a used one but a lot of people want crazy prices for used gear that it just isn't worth. Well, there are comments going back 4 years but I’ll add mine anyway. I bought one in January 2024. My number one criteria was lightweight but this one has got to be around 8lbs which is pretty heavy. I had seen some reviews of the 70’s CV Strat and they were always commenting on how light they were, I think they were around 7lbs which is about perfect. But I couldn’t get my hands on one so I decided to try the 50’s. It is definitely heavy and I also noticed after a few days that my thumb, on my fingerboard hand, was getting quite sore. I realized it’s from the glossy finish on the neck. I’ve got an ‘84 Tele Thinline and a Gibson 335 that have glossy necks and it never bothered me before. But in terms of a rock/blues player I am getting old so that’s probably why I don’t play either my Tele or 335 very much. They’re both over 8lbs. But with everything considered, I love this CV 50’s Strat. I got it locally and it is set up nicely. There’s a little bit of fret sprout but it plays beautifully. It has that Stratocaster feel and sound, more than any Fender Stratocaster I’ve ever played. It has 9’s on it and I tune down 1/2 tone. It’s fantastic

I had just bought the 50sCV Stratocaster in black and all I can say is that it's a great guitar. I love it so much I actually sold my MIM strat. I think this guitar is well worth the money and more. I'm surprised there not more expensive because they play really well. The only mod I did on the guitar was change the pickups. I put fender fat 50s in it because I didn't prefer the sound of the stock pickups, they sounded great but they were a little to bright and thin sounding to my liking. Overall squire has been putting out great guitars the past few years and the CV models are proof of that.

It seems that the guitars built in Indonesia and Vietnam seem to have a much higher level of build quality and obviously pride in the work that they do and the product that they build. The close-up of the nut makes me think it could be synthetic bone. It looked very nicely cut and dressed. . Impressive about the selector switch for sure and alnico pickups not ceramic. I like the look of the guitar neck colour and Design. I'm okay with the gloss, especially on the front. . The back can be slightly touched up if you need to. Not a fan of tobacco style Sunburst guitars But I'm sure they offer it In some other colors. How did those klusion style tuners feel to you? I would feel better with a set of machined Grover's on there that are Exact footprint replacement for them. So from my perspective, I would probably change the tuners and the output Jack As a bare minimum And I would completely Shield it And then it would be as good as just about any other Fender you could find, even at some higher price points. Doing this you can save yourself some money And end up with one sweet guitar.

These are the new Indonesian run and I've noticed a few things better than the Chinese ones pre 2019. First, the switch is a lot better as you mentioned. The pots are still Alpha mini's, but they are good quality nonetheless, same for the jack - good stuff. Also I like how they cut the nut slot, lacquered the neck and then insert the nut. On the old ones, the nut was inserted and then the neck was lacquered, which results in chipping of the finish when you're replacing it. The old ones have imo better pickups - toneriders, and the body wood was Alder instead of Pine/Nato. Your Tele is an example of the Crafted in China old ones.

I bought a player series strat a few months ago and sent it back because I was un happy with it for $950 AUD and this CV is a all round better guitar hands done and I payed $400 AUD less. If anything I may sand the neck back a bit cause it’s a bit sticky especially in a high humidity season here in Australia but that’s the probably the only con I can fault it on

You continuously put out so much thorough and honest content, I love your channel Landon! Small point that may or may not matter in the grand scheme of things, if you are using a fairly sensitive multimeter, you may want to either wear gloves, or find some other way of not making contact with the meter probes with your fingers. Your body's resistance will be high, but any parallel path you create will always give you a lower reading than the lowest of the two paths your meter is reading (The pickup/Your fingertip - fingertip). Again, for rough tests won't make a huge difference, but if you require more accurate results it could skew the results unknowingly. Great chance you are already very much aware of this, in which case (obviously), ignore it completely. And a second point, your dang videos might be the best add going for the AC15, I think Vox owes you some publicity compensation, it sounds so good!

Hey! $430 US is still $430 US even with a systems architect's job. I have a car payment and before that I managed to get a Fender American Professional II Strat. Everything else is either Fender MIM or Harley Benton, I kid you not. This is not an ultra-cheap price for a guitar. This is near middle of the road for most models under $1,500 US. So it may seem to some that you really don't have a right to expect that much out of a guitar in this price range. ECHHHHH! Wrong! Yes you do. It's not a Bullet. It's not an Affinity. This is where the next Fender guitars come from. This is the level that kind of serves as a test bed for Fender. And if it's testing this well, you'd better get one because they'll sell out and you'll end up having to pay nearly twice the amount on Ebay or the blessed Reverb. It's worth every penny and then some, especially if Landon says it's a good machine. This is going to be my next Strat. (Plus, those pickups sound absolutely heavenly and that fretboard looks like it'd be great to play on. Keep up the good work, Landon!

I own 3 squire classic vibes. The first two are of the first ones that came out. They are near perfect as far as vintage specs and the quality is impeccable. I cherish them. Bought a third new CV recently and was bummed out by how the attention to detail went out the window. Probably the biggest disappointment was how heavy they are.

I have 2 also….a custom Tele and a 2 tone sunburst, both from 2008. The Strat has a serial ending in 00028, so I wonder if it is the 28th made? I also tried the recent version, and agree they are not as nice, Laurel fretboard, sharp edges, less quality IMHO thanks!

Hey Landon dude how's it going it's MTL Mike, remember I used to live in Montreal now I live in Portugal, anyway dude I did the unthinkable. For years and years I said "I'll never in my life buy a Gibson and if somebody gives me one I'll sell it." Yup I bought a Gibson Les Paul Classic and dug it so much that 2 weeks after I bought a Gibson Les Paul Standard. Moral of the story - Never say Never. Take care. Mike.

Amazing review! I am looking forward to get this guitar later this year. Just wanted to make a small correction: it IS bone, the thing with bone is that its density is not as uniform as other materials (tusq, brass, graphite), so you might get pieces of bone with different properties, it might be that in this case your guitar just happened to get a less dense part of the bone or that Squier is in general reserving the better pieces for higher end guitars. Either way, in these cases, synthethic materials tend to be better not only for the environment, but for quality control as well. Cheers from Mexico!

Had the one with goldish hardware today - Hank Marvin like. It is a beatifull instrument, which is very playable out of the box. I allready have an American Custom Shop Strat tagged almost 5 times the price here in Europe. Honestly, I can't tell which one, I prefere. Well, the CV is a bit heavy, but if that's the "price", I have to carry for an awesome sound and sustain........it's okay with me. I'm in love with my new guitar. Cheers from Denmark. They did a good job on this one and the 50s Tele. I didn't really think I would like the telecaster. I got a 2025 made in China and it's very nice. This one Landon is playing sounds just as good as my 95 American standard. Pickups sound just like they should. Good review man. I like this one.

I purchased the exact same guitar, and I am pretty pleased with the look and the sounds coming from the guitar. What I am not so happy about was the tuners. They were all a bit different in resistance- some was very hard to turn, while others were very light. I replaced the with similar GOTOH sd-81 locking tuners which are much better quality. Also the frets needed leveling but still the action is very high. Note that I am in ni way a pro luthier, but know the basics of leveling and crowning 😏 The nut is real bone and will need a bit of work to get the string hight perfect - pretty common on budget guitars.

I couldn't wait. I found my Classic Vibe 50's Stratocaster in White Blonde at *Sweetwater* . Chose a 7 lb 6 oz beauty, with excellent figuring in the neck. and the body paint is translucent enough to see the wood grain. I highly recommend Sweetwater. Guitar arrived fast and safely. Was well packaged. It was setup excellent already, didn't even lower the strings. Sweetwater's 55 point inspection is legit. *"This is the nicest guitar I've ever played, and that includes my Dad's well setup Original 70's Strat, and a '69 Les Paul Goldtop that Guitar Center let me play."*

I just picked up the very same CV from Long & McQuade here in Toronto. I have no downside comments for it. My first proper guitar was a Squier back in 1986 or 1987 which played better than most Fenders I owned, and this feels and sounds better than that one. This is a nice addition to my Gibson SG Tribute

I bought a like-new used 50’s Fiesta Red Strat guitar, a little over 7 Pounds. I sanded the neck to address the heavy finish issue. I installed a bone nut snd had a setup done. It didn’t play like I wanted until I found the right strings and I fiddled with the set up. It intonates well and is expressive like Strats can be. But, the bridge pick-up is strident and, overall, the treble sound on the three pickups is a bit bright. (I cringe at ice picky trebles.). I had the bridge wired to the tone knob to help tame it, and I had a mini switch added to allow the bridge to be added to any other setting. I’ve been pleased with the guitar but I found myself tweaking the tone with the knobs and my pedals. After some years with it, I’m going to replace the wiring and pickups. I love the feel of the neck and the mechanics of the guitar, but I’m hoping to get a full, versatile sound that will quickly adjust without so much worry about both noise and a thin, biting treble. That being said, this Squier 50’s Strat is a fantastic guitar and even though It has some bothersome tonal issues, I can make it sound really fine. As is, the bridge+middle position is fantastic.

I have this same guitar and love the way it feels and sounds. It’s light and the neck and frets feel fantastic to me. I did install an “aged” pick guard that more closely matches the color of the pickup covers. I also installed brass roller saddles and really like the look and tone now. I’m just learning but this is a fantastic guitar for learning to play and I don’t plan on ever getting rid of it.
