Story is not like this … the rath yatra was halted becoz sevayak did not invite king .. king was sad sitting at home … Jagannath did move until king was invited & he performed the rituals

You have narrated half truth and truth is that present gajapati then was studying in Delhi. He had refused to perform the CHERAPOHORA as his p. V purse was cut off by indira gandhi. Everyone even nandini satpathy played still Lord jagannath remain unmoved. Message sent the king in Delhi and he came in a special plane performed CHERAPOHORA then Lord jagannath moved.

Actually Gajapati wasn't invited by the chief minister as she was saying governor should do the chera pahara as he should be known as the king of odisha that's why shree jagannath refused to board nandighosa and then shree jagannath only told his main sebayat that he won't go until the king comes then all the ministers along with chief minister Nandini satpathy went to the king and apologized to him for their mistake still Gajapati said he won't come since they insulted him and said that shree jagannath is with him but then his mother told him that all of the people who are here to say sorry are there servents but the one who called is our God go for him since he is the one made these people come to you and say sorry Then Gajapati came and then only God went inside his chariot It wasn't that he didn't want to come but he wasn't invited

And Indira Gandhi didn't have any role in this And when she got to know he is the Gajapati of puri she even came to bow and gave him respect as he was the only one who didn't bow infront of her so she asked someone that who is he That's what actually happened And this too happened in his graduation ceremony where Indira Gandhi was chief guest
