Brian, and Jeremy ... this worship song so greatly exemplifies the "heart of (GREATFUL) worship" of TRUE Believers of our Lord Jesus Christ and Children of our Almighty God. Those who recognize how much they have been cleansed of, and forgiven ... and of the NEW IDENTITY they now have ... in Jesus Christ. A "DONE DEAL" in Eternity already ... yet even while we continue down the road of "progressive sanctification" in this "physical realm" and this realm of "time and space" here. How miraculous! How Gracious (of Him). How undeserving (of us). Yet how sure and permanent His work for us on that Cross, not only setting us FREE but also making us HOLY (in Him) ! To you both, .. may I commend you & thank you for your response to His Holy Spirit in producing this .. a worship tune VERY WELL DONE (for His glory and for His Body). Thank you.

I woke up at 2 am, read bad news and it made me anxious. I felt numbness in some areas of my body, I had trouble breathing and going back to sleep. At 4 30 am, I decided to read my bible, I usually start it with a prayer and then I will read my bible, But this morning, I decided to start it with a worship song. I scrolled through YT, saw this video and your comment is on the top, and I thank God because I know that it was God who spoke to me through this Scripture. Thank you so much and thank You Lord! 🥺❤

Great comment. Have also noticed that many of the songs popular today are self-centred, all about self. Notice how many times they say "I" or "me" or "my" ; too egotistic to be purified worship.

I agree also. It's true. This song points people back to God. We sing about Him and sing His name. Not ours. We should realize the importance of turning our focus on Jesus. Worshiping His name.

It’s a great old song, but it’s mostly about “my heart” and “I choose.” in fact, every line is about me. So I don’t think you can claim it’s any more about God than our current songs.

It troubles me that teachings on these passages are virtually nonexistent in modern preaching, but if I sit down and just read a couple chapters of scripture they’re so prevalent I can’t ESCAPE them. And no, I’m not talking about the Old Testament/Covenant. I’m talking about the teachings of JESUS. His apostles. Peter. James. John. Paul. Those guys. So much heresy is running rampant in the church because we’re not clearly preaching the reality of eternal judgment, the reality of heaven and hell, or the frequent commands concerning holiness, godliness, purity and true Jesus apprenticeship. I don’t know quite how we got here, but somehow we’ve created “Christian” cultures that edit scriptures, remove the gravity of His holy commandments, and numb peoples ears to real truth. If you want a glimpse into the last 2 years of my life, it has mostly been about deep and ongoing repentance as I’ve let His words pierce me, at times even terrify me... real fear and trembling. Deep grieving over my sin and brokenness. And not once was it disconnected from His love, His mercy or His goodness. In fact I have felt all those things the strongest in the midst of it. His truth IS merciful. His truth IS love. His truth IS good. But oh the warfare over truth in our lives! How great our need of His discipline! I’m not wagging a crooked, judgmental finger. I literally write this in tears. My loving appeal is this: read scripture as though your life depended on it. Not a paraphrase (they’re helpful commentaries but should never replace the reading of scripture). Not the Mirror Bible, which is nothing but DECEPTION cleverly packaged as a paraphrase. Have NOTHING to do with it. If you read Christian literature more than the Word, stop and reverse that. Now more than ever FEED on the word of God. Let it refine you, preserve you, guard and equip you for every good, fruit-bearing work. The times ahead demand it.
