While Puriya is a deep, intense, meditative raga, Trivat is a vibrant, rhythmic, not oft sung Hindustani classical genre, and this piece explores the merging of these two moods.
In this traditional Trivat, syllables (bols) of the Tabla and Pakhawaj have been woven into a drut Teen taal composition, to create a melodic conversation of sorts between raga and rhythm, using alphabets of rhythm and not just raga, for a change!
Starting with harmonic elements, and moving through rhythmic sargams and bol taans, this piece culminates into an exciting sawaal-jawaab and jugalbandi with the tabla in the end!
