Everything is bigger in Texas! Though short on Route 66 miles (only 150 in this state), Texas has some BIG sights and was a lot of fun in a BIG way! TommyG and I finally reached the 1/2 way point of Route 66 in Adrian, TX a week after we had been on the trail. We enjoyed pics at the state line and the 1/2 way point, eating at the Big Texan, visiting The Giant Cross and had some Cadillac painting fun, to name a few things.

Hi Jody & Tommy G , what a fun and entertaining video. I always enjoy watching you two ryde the backroads of America. The midpoint of the trip had to cause a lot of feelings. We made it halfway there , oh we are halfway through already! Definitely some interesting things to see. Yeah I can just hear that Dad telling his kids at the spray paint store, "let's also get a can of purple paint, if we don't use it, there will probably be someone there at the exact same time we get there whose favorite color is purple, with purple hair and wearing purple, who didn't bring any purple paint, and we'll run into them and can give them this can of purple paint... that guy should have bought a lottery ticket too 😊😁🤗👍👍👍

It really was something! It's right along the Interstate so it's kind of a bummer that you can hear all the traffic going by...hence the voiceover...with the wind and the traffic noise, it didn't sound too great. Hope you get a chance to see it sometime!💜

Oh, we had a lot of fun riding the whole thing..took us about 3 weeks from Chicago to Santa Monica. We met so many wonderful people and even folks from Europe...actually have a new pen pal (the old fashioned way to send a letter, lol) from Ireland. She and her friend knew more about Route 66 than we did and they saved for 7 years to come over here to experience it. I imagine Cadillac Ranch is busy most of the time with tourists. Nick, I, too was concerned about Chicago...but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be! The worst part was getting out of the city and NONE of it compared to riding on the freeway in LA...that is the section that I don't want to do again, lol! I hope you get the opportunity some day to go on Route 66! We want to go back in 2026 for the 100th anniversary and maybe we can stop and see the things we missed on this trip. Tommy G is such a character. It's good that you hired him to be your co-star lol. I can't believe that guy was standing on one of the cars. How are they supposed to last forever if people stand on them? Across this pretty cool. I've seen them throughout the country in our travels but none of them have had any stuff like this. That is awesome. I am jealous. I wish I had seen Cadillac ranch but I will someday. Hopefully it's still there. Doesn't erode away. Halfway across Old Route 66....
