About the game:
Dyson Sphere Program is currently in Early Access and updated on a regular basis. Despite being in early access, it is extremely polished and complete, so I highly recommend you checking out the game if you are a fan of Factorio, Satisfactory or other building/management/factory games.
I am not sponsored in any way - Just a big fan of the game.

At this point I would like to thank you because DSP is a beautiful game, but I was completely overwhelmed and your videos helped me a lot to understand the game! Please keep it up!

First and four most love the series , as a side note would have been nice to have the science hub spilt up into separate blue prints as the final version is two requires purple research for blue prints lol

Hey, TDA. Your friendly blueprint quality assurance rep here. In the 037 Particle Broadband blueprint there are a few things to check on. One of the few useful things the traffic monitor can do is to check that your final output matches what you expect. If it does, chances are the blueprint is good, or at least good enough. If it does not, then it's worth checking into. Based on lower-than-expected broadband output, I found that five of the energetic graphite smelters have their input connected to the output belt and were not producing anything. As a minor point, there are two output belts missing. The oil output from the ILS and the hydrogen input into the other ILS didn't get included in the blueprint.

Nothing beats quality assurance! I did catch the graphite ingame but aparantly forgot to update the blueprint, both that plus the missing belts that got cut out are now updated! Thanks!!

@@TheDutchActuary on 21:15 where are you getting magnetic coils, circuit boards, processors, and missile sets I don’t see any PLS or ILS dedicated for transporting the items

There isn't, those are all made on site (with exception of the missiles, which have their own dedicated build both in the early game as well as a more focused build - both export them to an ILS.@@TrovoMapleYT

Curious what we do today. So cool! 12:18 would it make sense with the Hydrogen we get on the blue planet to burn it in some Thermal Power Plants for power on the planet? I am abit afraid it could stall and production stops? 16:08 Fighting abit to place the Polar Hub Defense Ring. Error: To close to another power facility. There is nothing on the pole so I think the Accumulators interfer somehow. Turning and SHIFT on the grid does not help either. Soluition: Place the hub no matter what warnings with SHIFT/Retrurn. Remove the outer Accumulators. Place power poles for gus into the ring. Place Accumulators again. Another little problem I see on the blue planet with the Graphite production. When I did not place the BP wrongly the Arc Smelters only work half way (not connected all) and some Coal inputs also have crystal inputs. I think. Energetic Graphite is a bit less, so I added also 3 more Smelters to the line. Feels better now.
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 3 месяца назад
Hiya! The defense hub blueprint was updated now as indeed the power poles seemed to fight with the accomulators. The Graphite in the broadband update was correct as well, so you were spot on!

Very nice series so far, thank you TDA! I don't know if it's something I'm doing wrong, but I noticed the polar defence blueprint doesn't seem to be placing all the power towers required for the blueprint to work. I didn't have much time to troubleshoot it though.
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 3 месяца назад
You're correct, it seems the accumulators and power poles don't play nice in the blueprint, despite being literally a copy of my build ingame. I've removed a few accumulators (it was overkill anyway) and placed the power towers inline now. Blueprint is updated and should hopefully work without power issues now!

Late game I would originally convert crude oil straight to particle broadband in one build - since once we have warpers we can get organic crystals. There was no need for plastic in anything else. These days, with plastic needed in explosive units - I guess a build doing that from raw to finished makes sense. Do we need an “ammunition mall” these days? Hmmmm.

just curious if there is a video i need to watch to get more of a break down on the science facility build on the pole. I prefer to build over using blue prints. helps me understand the logistics any why im doing it.

Curious about your thoughts on belt bending. Your playthoughts seem to be about efficiency, belt bending sounds like something that would help increase your space efficiency. Is there a plan for a bended playthough series? Maybe calling it "Forbiddin Efficiency" playthough.
@Yardiff
@Yardiff 3 месяца назад
I quite enjoy the occasional non-right-angle bends. It somehow “feels” organic. Reminds me of my younger days when creating circuit board layouts for my electronics hobby.
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 3 месяца назад
Belt bending is definitly something to consider for the ' min maxers ' but it seems to me this is not intended behaviour that will get fixed at some point, or at the very least is at risk of breaking at any given time. It is also quite a bit of effort/complexity for a small gain. Specifically, a small reduction in footprint in a game that literally gives us a universe to work with! Considering i've never really ran out of room to build in my playthroughs, I simply don't think it is worth the effort.
@wazjig6789
@wazjig6789 Месяц назад
i really wanted to make my own blueprints well following along still essentially using the same layouts, but i gave up trying to recreate the science setup building in the poles is somewhat confusing.

Love everything about your play throughs, very clean builds, everything except the mall, that pains my soul, as much as I DO love the new delivery bots, I do wish the item set up were more uniform.
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 3 месяца назад
Hahahah I totally get that! Honestly with a bit of effort you could probably align the mall buildings in such a way that it is more uniform - although the weird combinations would make that very challenging!
@Fky12345
@Fky12345 3 месяца назад
Yes, Mall should also be closer to the Equator line cause close to north/south pole you get too much shift in the grid
@Brickscrap
@Brickscrap 3 месяца назад
So I really like your build style, it's very neat, but I have a question. Why do you choose to transport raw ores everywhere with the ILS/PLS, rather than just smelt them in place and bring over the smelted materials?
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 3 месяца назад
Offsite smelting is definitely an option, and one that I used to employ quite a bit as it simplifies later game builds. However, I wanted to keep the entire builds for this run self-contained. This helps to prevent situations where you are expanding your top tier production, but don't have enough basic production. And the other way around - it avoids having tons of smelters sitting around doing nothing.

It seems that the updated version of the science polar hub blueprint (039) has all the matrixlabs in it, hence it is over the blueprint limit of 3600.
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 2 месяца назад
Yes, but it also has a few other upgrades that I didn't want to take out as they are used in the later game. The easiest way to fix this is delete the un-important buildings (like the matrix labs :P) and just place them back in. The belts & ILS setup is by far the most work to put down.
@SSKev121
@SSKev121 2 месяца назад
Question, the science purple hub is 4232 facilities, but the tech to get above 3600 for blueprint limit uses purple science, was this an oversite?
@TheDutchActuary
@TheDutchActuary 2 месяца назад
The initial version was actually slimmed down (I removed the solar panels and most of the matrix labs) but then later added in a few more things like the proliferators and warpers and it grew beyond the limit. You can either do something similar in the sandbox, or just delete the matrix labs, solar panels, missile turrets and accumulators and you'll be back within the threshold. Might sound strange to do that, but the matrix labs are the only things you really need from those items, and those are super quick to add back in.
