Niceeeeeee! Thank you Faraam! I've been playing a lot of Ocelotl in the last couple of weeks, and really wanted to see you playing with him for a bit. I definitely get why people feel that he's bland. After all, his moveset can pretty much be summarized as "infinite unga bunga chain lol." Nevertheless, I truly feel that his identity comes from his supposed role as "a ganker and a hunter," since Hunter's Stance, while completely useless in 1 vs 1 situations, goes a long way when ganking in Dominion. After all, his pounce covers a frankly ridiculous distance, pins the opponent down, and deals a nice amount of damage. A marvelous tool to whip out as soon as you see the enemy going on the offensive on a teammate of yours. His first 3 default feats do have some nice and unique synergy going on as well. You can get killed by someone, come back as a ghost, track down your killer now that he's been marked, stalk them, and pounce on them when they are most vulnerable, taking advantage of the fact that, by being marked by your 2nd feat, they will now take extra damage. Kill them, and now you have a nice damage and speed buff. This really plays into the "methodical hunter" thing the Ocelotl is supposed to be. After all, ideally, you want to respawn when you have enough health to win the fight, or when there are teammates nearby so you can gank on a specific someone. You just skipped a lot of respawning and travel time, so don't worry, you can wait a few extra seconds. Much better than reappearing with 10 health while outnumbered and getting one-shot. As little additions, you can always respawn on a captured zone neglected by the enemy and take it for your team, or use your 4th feat near a ledge to pull someone to you and throw them into the abyss for a few chuckles. All in all, Ocelotl is NOT a top tier hero. Mid tier sounds fair to me. Makes things easier when ganking someone, but is quite helpless when you're the one who's outnumbered. Definitely fun and unique when you play to his strengths and get into the "hunter who jumps when the victim is most compromised" mindset, but lacking the mechanical depth of other more challenging, more rewarding, more universally useful heroes. Bonus fact: One of his voicelines REALLY sounds like "La musiquita!" to most Spanish speakers, which is extra fun because he is more popular with latin american players for obvious reasons.
It’s so fun to mix people up with this character. I get why people don’t like him, he has insane offensive potential but has a very shallow moveset but it’s a very liberating moveset at the same time, I just hope they do something with hunters stance in the future. I’m excited for the new armor too, it looks really nice and clean.
Hey Mr. faraam, I've just been curious, are you taking a break from streaming? Or is there something you've got going in the works? I notice your page is different. Just wondering what you've got cooking up : ]
Every new hero feels like that because it's new move set to learn how to deal with it that's why i always say buy the hero because first 2 weeks are usually pure fun
they are all overpowered in the first week and something obvious gets nerfed after that one week when everyone can buy the hero with steel instead of money.
