Pursuit TVI Interstate 40 West Memphis Arkansas State Police Troop D, Traffic Series Ep. 608 

D-25's incident report: "On Friday, October 20, 2023, at approximately 6:23 P.M., I was sitting stationary at the weigh station when I noticed a black Dodge Journey traveling at a high rate of speed. The speed indicator displayed a speed of 91 mph in a 65 mph zone. I drove away from the weigh station to locate the vehicle. After noticing the vehicle, I traveled behind it for a while until there was a safe location to conduct a traffic stop. The driver took the Ingram exit and drove west on the service road. I activated my blue lights to attempt a traffic stop. The driver then acted as if he was going to stop and then drove off, making a right turn onto the service road. After there were no indications by the driver to pull over a Tactical Vehicle Intervention was performed. The Dodge Journey left the roadway to the right and went up an embankment connected to an overpass. The Dodge Journey finally stopped, and a black male exited the vehicle. The male ran north across the service road before being tased in a grassy area between the Interstate and Service Road. After the taser deployment, I attempted to render aid. I advised dispatch to send an ambulance to my location. Crittenden EMS arrived on the scene and treated the male. The subject was transported to Crittenden Baptist Hospital in West Memphis, Arkansas for further evaluation. The subject was released and taken to Crittenden County Detention Center and charged with the following: Speeding, Careless and prohibited, Fleeing in a vehicle, Fleeing on foot, Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License, No Liability Insurance, and Resisting Arrest."

With everything that happens to these state vehicles, can you even imagine the wait for maintenance of their vehicles? Even replacing windshields could have a waiting period. If the vision aspect is not overly hampered, this cruiser could be on a list.

Surface under the bridge is called slope paving and it has a beefy sidewall on each side that likely took his oil pan (or something) out...

Double pain. First from the taser and second from the full on face plant which happens from running full speed while being tasered. Criminal is fortunate the trooper waited until he was in a grassy area before deploying it. Well done sir. Another one who thought he was close enough to the border to get back into Memphis and freedom.

I've been knowing Donnie Cheers for years. Met him while I attended Arkansas State University. He was a hell of an AAU basketball coach too.
