Pursuit TVI Overturned Harrison Boone County Arkansas State Police Troop I, Traffic Series Ep. 564 

I-10's incident report: "I WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON CENTRAL AVE. WHEN I OBSERVED V1 HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD AND EXPIRED TAGS. I POSITIONED MYSELF BEHIND V1 AND ACTIVATED MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS. V1 THEN TURNED ONTO S. MAIN STREET. I FOLLOWED V1 TO SOUTH WALNUT AND HIT MY SIREN TO GET HIS ATTENTION. AFTER ALERTING V1 OF MY PRESENCE HE RAPIDLY ACCELERATED IN AN ATTEMPT TO FLEE. V1 THEN TRAVELED ONTO E. SOUTH AVE. BEING FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA AND KNOWING WE WERE RAPIDLY APPROACHING A NEIGHBORHOOD I QUICKLY MADE THE DECISION TO PERFORM A TVI ON V1. I USED MY PUSH BAR TO MAKE CONTACT WITH V1S REAR. AFTER CONTACT, V1 BEGAN TO ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE HITTING A TELEPHONE POLE, AND OVERTURNED ONE TIME LANDING UPRIGHT FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IN A CHURCH PARKING LOT. S1 THEN EXITED THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR DRIVER-SIDE DOOR AND LAID FACE DOWN ON THE PARKING LOT. AFTER S1 EXITED, V1 BEGAN TO ROLL WESTBOUND HITTING A SIGN BELONGING TO THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, CONTINUED ACROSS A RESIDENTIAL LAWN AND COLLIDED WITH A TREE. S1 CONTINUED LYING ON THE GROUND FACE DOWN MOANING AND UNABLE TO CLEARLY COMMUNICATE WITH ME. S1 WAS TAKEN TO THE NORTH ARKANSAS REGINAL MEDICAL CENTER AND CHARGED WITH: FLEEING IN VEHICLE, NO INSURANCE, RECKLESS DRIVING, NO SEATBELT, THEFT OF PROPERTY

As Trooper Byrd once said, " If you had pushed the brake pedal instead of the gas, this would not have happened." He will quit his crying when his "high" wears off.

I imagine him lying in that parking lot, crying and pleading for help, was as close as he's come to praying in a church in many years.

It was hilarious watching a 360 flip and the driver exiting out of the rear passenger door. Only thing funnier would’ve been the pastor coming out of the building and praying for him.😂 Buckle up boys!

Wow that ended almost as fast as it started. I personally dont think dude was faking pain. It would be very difficult to fake that kind of agony, plus it looked like his left leg was messed up plus may have had broken ribs or other internal injuries. Bless that old man in the white shirt who came to help, still had compassion even though the suspect's stupid actions got him in that predicament.

I sure wouldn't be turning my back on that guy like this trooper did, Not until I had backup. He could have had a gun down his shorts and used the screaming as a distraction until he had his chance. Glad he got flipped so quick though. Stay safe out there troopers!

Extremely quick and effective TVI. All they have to do is pull over, he elected to run and you see his incredible consequence, it looks like he actually fell getting out, probably a broken leg? Hey NST, I recently watched a thirty minute pursuit by the FHP, with a SUV through 3 Counties, multiple Spike Strip used, two wrecked units and he finally stopped to refuel. 16 Law Enforcement Officers, they actually DEAD STOP at all intersections, stupidity!

My brother met the pursuing officer at the gas station and asked about the damage to his squad car, and he pointed him to this video. Don't mess with our cops. They don't mess around either!

It looked to me like his left knee was twisted up. That's gonna hurt more than a lot of people can gut out.

I fear that my view on this may not be welcomed considering some of the comments ive read so far, but here goes. I feel sorry for both the officer and the subject. I believe that no officer wants to cause harm or injury during an intervention, and this man, in my opinion as a nurse, was evidently in a lot of pain. I can't imagine someone faking injury and pain would endure lying face down on what must have been burning hot pavement just to sell his act. People who are seriously injured are many times in shock and can be inconsolable and incoherent directly after an accident, regardless of possible chemical influence. These videos are very educational and fascinating to watch. The ASP are top notch and skilled. I don't know any of them personally but I've watched enough videos of them to surmise the majority are kind hearted individuals and care about the people who make up their communities. I think they have compassion for others even if they break the law and understand that we're all still human.

trooper may have made a rookie mistake by assuming the perp wasn't acting ar being injured. trooper didn't make sure he was unarmed. guy could have pulled a piece and shot the trooper when he wasn't looking.
