Pursuit/TVI State Line Texarkana Miller County Arkansas State Police Troop G, Traffic Series Ep. 648 

G-19's incident report: "On 11/25/2023, at approximately 8:42 PM, I was patrolling on State Line Ave. and was advised by Sgt. Tanner Freeman that another Texarkana Arkansas Police Officer was in pursuit on Hickory St. I had a miscommunication with Sgt. Freeman, and I began heading southbound on State Line. Sgt. Freeman advised me to head north on State Line to 24th Street. Sgt. Freeman advised me that he wanted me to take over the pursuit if I caught up to them. I notified Troop G dispatch of the pursuit. As I was heading north on State Line Ave. Sgt. Freeman advised it appeared the vehicle was going to stop, and the suspects were going to attempt to flee on foot. Sgt. Freeman then advised that the passenger had bailed out the vehicle on foot and the driver kept fleeing in the vehicle. Sgt. Freeman also advised that Sgt. Luna (who started the pursuit) was out with the passenger. I then turned off State Line Avenue onto East 24th Street and started heading eastbound. At East 24th Street and Florida Street, I met the suspect vehicle and Sgt. Freeman. I observed the vehicle to be actively fleeing and had a blown tire with sparks coming from the vehicle. I turned around and attempted to catch up to the vehicle and Sgt. Freeman. My top speed to catch up to the fleeing vehicle was 91 mph. I caught up to the fleeing vehicle and Sgt. Freeman at East 24th St. and State Line Ave and took over the pursuit at 8:46 p.m. The fleeing vehicle drove through the parking lot of a gas station at that intersection. The vehicle had heavy smoke and sparks coming from it. The vehicle then traveled south on State Line Avenue for a short distance and cut through another parking lot onto W 28th Street. I got behind the vehicle and our speeds were around 18 mph. The suspect vehicle then ran the stop sign and turned left onto Magnolia Street. At the intersection of Magnolia Street and West 27th Street. I attempted my first TVI on the passenger side of the vehicle at 18 mph. The driver was able to gain control of the vehicle and continued south on Magnolia Street. I performed another TVI on the passenger side of the fleeing vehicle at 6 mph and was able to stop the vehicle. The driver, who was later identified as Bradley T. Hendrix, fled on foot. Sgt. Freeman and I pursued Mr. Hendrix on foot and gave him multiple commands to stop fleeing. Mr. Hendrix ran between some residences and jumped over a chain-link fence. Sgt. Freeman was able to catch the subject in the backyard and take him to the ground. Sgt. Freeman and I were able to place Mr. Hendrix in handcuffs without further incident. Mr. Hendrix was then turned over to the Texarkana Texas Police Department. Mr. Hendrix is being charged with felony charges in the State of Arkansas and Texas. The reason for the stop by Sgt. Luna was for improper turns and expired tags. The license plate on the vehicle was AJD75P."

Good chase. Fortunately someone had backed up the ASP unit before the car first exploded, otherwise the Trooper unit would have been on fire as well. It is great to see different agencies working together. STAY SAFE OUT THERE ALL LEOs.
