See how a push-back pallet racking system works within a warehouse with these demonstration video. Pallets can be stored one behind the other with this system (up to 4 deep for the solution shown). Instead of pallets sitting directly on the pallet racking beams, they are loaded onto a specially designed carrier - when a new pallet is loaded, everything within that section is pushed backwards. When a pallet is removed, all of the remaining pallets automatically roll towards the front of the racking.
A dynamic push-back pallet racking system like this is perfect for use when there are several pallets of the same item being stored.

Great demonstration video showing how push back pallet racking works. Clever how the yellow markers indicate that there's space in the lane. Push back is ideal for storing consignments prior to be being loaded for delivery.

I worked in a freezer with a rack style similar to this. The older section was drive in racks and push back in the new section. I could drop pallets fast enough to keep 3 drivers busy loading trucks on the push backs. If you own a warehouse, invest in a system like this. (Edit) What type of forklift is that and what benefits would it have over a Raymond or Crown? I don't think I would like it and have driven about everything under the sun before I graduated college.

It's easy. I drive reach with these types of racks. 6 deep. Not that hard.

@@2degucitas Yes that is correct, it is basically a wheeled platform that runs on tracks fitted to the racking.

Some people don't notice how the carriage section extends as the pallets are pushed in. This example basically gives 64 pallet spaces within a footprint that would normally only have 32 pallet spaces of standard pallet racking.
