Cheaper to buy an older model Victa 2 or 4 stroke "The Real Ones" for $20 to $30 , Do the proper service compression test decarbonise ra ra raaa get it back to tip top , you've got a mower that will keep going another 20++ years , with the right care
I have a problem that perhaps you could give me a tip for. I took my zip starter off, like the video, and the cord is fine. Tension seems fine. But when I put it back on and try to start the mower, it only "catches" right near the end of the pull, with not enough force to start the engine. Would this be the spring on the bottom not catching until the end? It has tension the entire time, so I am guessing it isn't that.
G'day, just saved a VC from the tip. Put new pawls in but they slip, won't grip inside the started cup. Pawls splay out wider than the cup no worries. You have any ideas how the oldies use to fix these? Thanks. Rodney.
I was given that exact cover, colour and all, only to discover it has no return spring! That cover in this video is in very good condition. I can see that's a Mayfair base.
