What's amazing about this movie is how Death can scares Puss shitless. Even when watching it in cinema, everytime Death starts to whistle, it gave me goosebumps.

Yeah, that was kinda Death’s whole point. Death was making Puss fear him after the whole “ laughs in the face of death” thing, laughing in his face. Death Says it multiple times that he was really enjoying their chase “ I’ve enjoyed the chase gato.” Death also had a bit of a personal vendetta against Puss because he found the idea of nine lived absurd, and he hated the fact that Puss wasted 8 of them. Yeah, Lobo (Death personified in the wolf) was going to kill Puss, but the first step was to make he realize that he’s mortal.
It really says a lot about how powerfully frightening Death is that Puss in Boots has an out of character reaction every time he appears, reducing the brave and courageous swordsman to a cowardly and frightened cat.
The fact that Death speaks spanish and is good at sword fighting implies that this death is a personification of Puss' death specifically, and I love it. It implies that the death would look differently for all the characters. For perrito it would probably look like a cute unicorn or something

Kitty is such an underrated character. They never give her a backstory in depth so you sort of have to imagine it. She grew up as a stray, met her old owners, got declawed, became a master thief and somewhere along the way learnt how to use a sword, stole Golden Goose, adventured with Puss and then here we are. It isn't mentioned when she used to work for Jack but she did. Also, if more people knew of the effects of declawing a cat, they would know how bad it is. It doesn't just take away a cats main weapon but has several long term impacts. It is the human equivalent of chopping off the tips of fingers and toes because their claws are part of their bone structure. It makes it a pain to even walk and Kitty would have had to learn how do all the basics again. It makes her very resilient to pain and determined. She has very similar skill to Puss but never goes out and calls herself a hero. She doesn't have that same ego so she isn't as easily distracted or flattered by other people. She has trust issues but that makes her very observant and street smart. In my opinion, she is slightly more intelligent than Puss. Puss isn't stupid like the TV series made him out to be. Sure, for jokes he can be called stupid but just because he is rash and not academically smart doesn't mean he is stupid. He has survived on his own on the run for years now. Kitty is just that slight bit more street savy and intelligent. I could go on forever. I am not saying she should have been higher on this list, I am just saying there is a lot more to her that people don't recognise nearly enough.

There’s also the fact that in the film after he leaves retirement, he is still able to fight and dodge his opponents attacks, despite the fact that he hasn’t been in combat for some time (give or take a year or 2). There’s also the fact that he’s able to fight Death with his sword when for the most part he hasn’t had access to his sword nor touched one in a year. Shows that despite the time gap, Puss is still skilled as ever. Even becoming more deadly when he dual wields his sword and Catito blade against Death. Heck he even managed to surprise Mama and Baby with a stick and knock them off the conveyor belt. Really shows that despite his lack of training or participation in fights during his retirement, his skills are still there in his manos. All 4 of them. This is why no one despite their skills, weapons and trickery will ever be able to beat the Legend himself
“He defeated mama and baby bear with a stick” I mean they stopped wanting to fight him, but I don’t think getting a bear to say “ouch” and back off a bit counts as defeating them
I can see why they picked Death as the strongest character. Wolves are generally strong, even if they don't really walk on two legs like humans, or talk, which Death does, but still. Wolves generally don't stop attacking once they attack something. Wolves are simply resilient, and while they don't have the isual strength of a bear or the stamina of a human, they're quite head strong. Death had it easy with Puss in boots. Even a character like Shrek and Puss in Boots would have a hard time against Death in combat
Death cannot be permanently defeated regardless of what you are, and it can take on many different forms. When Death comes after someone on its own terms, its avatar may be differ depending on the target. Death most likely took on a "Big Bad Wolf" form for Puss since Puss is most psychologically vulnerable to canines (likely from PTSD stemming from being killed by them years earlier, shown in a flashback).

Spoiler alert if you haven’t watched the video or film . . . . . I totally agree with putting Death on top, since he is the only character in the movie incapable of dying - so it’s only right that he got the gold medal. Amazing sequel and I’m so happy it’s doing so well ❤
No one has said or confirmed that Death is unkillable, it's just an image that is completely tied to its essence. He is the equivalent of Thanatos or Thanos, they are also identified with death, but both were killed or obliterated. The character in the new film is interesting, but his presentation has become too trivial.
I agree with the rankings but I do think that Jack is more than just a guy with lots of resources. Like yeah he has a ton of assets, but he's also a brick wall of a man. Like he presumably ripped excalibur out of the ground, and he also swung it around(with the boulder still attached) hard enough to knock the bears back. With one arm, mind you
Kitty: - outwitted and robbed Jack offscreen; - stole his map along with Puss; - steals his map again in the final fight; - kicks him into his own botteless bag; - gives giant Jack a "Spanish splinter" Jack: - gets ranked higher then Kitty
I feel like only the kicking Jack into the bottomless bag thing was actually a feat of power for Kitty. The Spanish Splinter was done with the help of Puss and so was not a feat Kitty did by herself, and the other three have more to do with her intelligence and quick wits rather than raw power like the subject of this video.
The fact alone, that Lobo was ranting that he "played with his food" could be read as the fact, that even in the final fight he wasn't serious, and if he was, there would be no fight. There would only be Death.
Yes. Heck, if Puss had decided to wish for more lives instead of fighting, Death could have taken each them right then and there as well, if he wanted. Killing him as many times as needed.

People who claim Death is evil used the rant where he asks himself why he “plays with his food” as a reason to his villainy, and he did ask himself why he played with his food. Anyone who is 100% serious about killing someone wouldn’t waste time and just get it over with. Instead, Puss stunned Death long enough to show that his now valued his life which was the only victory Puss could have hoped for. So no, if Death was actually serious, Puss would 100% have died in that final fight.

That alone means that Puss throwing the map aside meant nothing to Death. The map was of no consequence to Death because he can be anywhere he wants. He only knew Puss’ wish was to get his lives back. None of that was ever going to deter that battle from happening or even delay it. The only thing that held Death back as long as it did was Puss reflecting upon his memories. Also, yes, Death did have shocked reactions, but that proves far more to how Puss had changed from their first encounter than it did to Death being serious. Therefore, it does not confirm he was serious in that final fight. Remember, in the beginning of the film, Puss was an arrogant legend who couldn’t even count how many times he had died. He even thought those eight times he died were a four, meaning he’d thought he had more lives to spare. As the movie went on, his arrogance was dying down and he began to take death a lot more seriously. Death was fighting a much different character than he had at the beginning of the film, and that’s what those shocked expressions from Death confirmed. It did nothing to confirm his “seriousness”.
You forgot to mention two things: 1- Papa bear is also unbeatable at piano able to make a good music number 2- Big Jack had a giant form after eating the cookie from Alice in Wonderland and was also able to survive and get out of his infinite bag meaning he is durable and he literally holded Excalibur stuck in a rock and used it as a baseball bat I mean come on that's extra points
You forgot to mention that in their last fight death made an arena of fire which probably implies that he has abilities that we havent seen the full extent of yet
When I watched this with my dad.It got me thinking Jack Horner is just mad about when he was a kid he was weak so he wants to be just powerful to take over because he wants to be magic.I really loved this movie my favourite character was Goldie because she has a heart and she saves her brother who is mean to her for being a human.This was the best movie ever!I liked the part when perro kept swearing.In theory what does death/wolf wish for? Because hes in a fairy tale book the three little pigs.The big bad wolf that might be death and I know how you feel Goldie and baby bear I fight with my siblings all the time.This was mind blowing this movie was just mind blowing I have nothing more to say.This took me so long to write so please read it all.But death is just soooooooo creepy because like the death whistle and during the Mexican wave at the start you see death!So this was just so cool I love the movie!So my work here is done bye!!!
We also haven't seen deaths full extent because he could control flames, teleport and other mystical things if death wanted to i doubt boots would've survived in the end.

@@bloodwolfgaming9269What you say is true, but I do think we can still take Death at his word here. In that same fight with the giant, he stood pretty far back in the crowd, plenty of distance away. We have also seen him to be pretty fast, and wolves in real life are not slowpokes. Given this, we can assume he could have been anywhere in those same places where Puss experienced each of his deaths. In the first death, Puss had an audience, and that audience extended further than the spot Puss got run over by the bulls, so we can assume Death was elsewhere in that same audience. In the second death, the poker table is not a big table, and it was full at five players. As someone who’s played poker myself, I can tell you that in a casino setting, Death could have been elsewhere in the same poker room because those rooms can fit twenty poker tables easy and can even go into the hundreds depending on your casino. Death three, Death could have simply been anywhere in that same town, and the tower itself was pretty high. In Death four, fitness centers aren’t small, so like the poker death, Death could have been elsewhere in the same room, maybe doing leg presses or tricep pulls perhaps? In Death five, he could have just been somewhere behind the cannon. Remember, Puss never saw Death until his ninth life, so the only places Death could not have been would have been anywhere Puss was looking, and he didn’t look behind the cannon in the flashback. In Death six, just two and four, he could have been elsewhere in the room. In a restaurant, we don’t always look to see what’s going on around us, especially when we eat, so it could even be possible that he was dining at a table next Puss’ own. On the seventh death, we only see the oven, what’s in front of the oven, and the area to Puss’ left. Anywhere else, Death could have been lurking as this did not appear to be a small space he was in.
I watched the movie and I see, and this is my opinion, that puss is better in terms of fighting and swordsmanship, but Wolf cannot be defeated, because no matter how much puss beats him, he will not stop
It might simply be because puss was defending himself without really creating an attack by his own initiative, he was fighting to stay alive and nothing else.
At 3:18 to 3:21, Shouldn't Brad Gilliam say that they can't rank Goldie ABOVE the rest of her family, he said BELOW which is incorrect. They are ranking the Puss in Boots characters weak to powerful so Goldie should be ranked BELOW if she really is lower but Brad accidentally said it wrong. Also I agree that Death is the strongest Puss in Boots the Last Wish Character, after all even when Puss in Boots puts up a decent fight and is determined to live out his last life instead of wishing his 8 lost lives back, if Death really wanted too, he could have still killed Puss in Boots instead of sparing him like he did in the movie. I imagine that for the Puss in Boots the Last Wish Characters dumb to brilliant, Jack Horner would be decently high if not near the top or in the middle. He had a pretty good plan to try to get the wishing star for his wish for all magic in the world to be his only. But he was pretty stupid when the map got destroyed into pieces to try to piece it back together even when the Wishing Star was breaking apart. Even if he got pieced the map together, it seems unlikely he would still be able to make his wish on time befrore the star collapses and takes him with it. Kitty Softpaws and Goldilocks might be smarter than Jack Horner, cause they were close to getting their wish from the star too, but when the star started to disintegrate they at least knew not to stay on the Wishing Star when it was being destroyed. The Dog, Cricket, and Mama Luna might be on the lower end of dumb to smart spectrum while the doctor is probably in the middle. Puss in Boots and Death would probably be high. But Maybe Death is the smartest.
Except Puss was enjoying life. That wasn’t the problem. Death himself said he doesn’t like the idea of cats having 9 lives. Even though he’s death and is the one who takes people at the end of it, he knows life is sacred because of how limited and precious it is. So in his eyes, having 9 lives and being able to die 8 times and get back up, not only makes a mockery of him and what he stands for, but also the what makes life so precious. And quite a few of Puss’ 8 deaths were due to his own arrogance and carelessness. (Not all of them. The shellfish one was more of an unfortunate accident… but you could make the argument that Puss should have checked before eating it. But that’s neither here nor there) Since he viewed himself as an immortal legend who had lives to spare, he didn’t value his lives. And even when on his last life, he did not care and he was almost certainly going to squander that life. And death could not stand for that. Puss’ arrogance and his carelessness with his lives went against everything death stood for and did not believe Puss deserved his 9th life if he was just going to waste it. And when Death humbled Puss by making him realise that he will eventually lose to death, he decides to spare Puss.
