I feel like she needs enrichment. Her enclosure looks so barren and boring. She's always growling and hissing, always so nervous. I hope she acclimates quickly but for now, she really needs toys to keep her busy and to express some of that pent-up energy and stress.
@@lindseymercuria3971 I have been thinking the same thing. Should pass some of Messi's toys on to her. Would allow Ichel to get use to Messi's smell as well.
Ichel's enclosure is very nice. It's probably like a palace compared to what most large cats have in captivity. She already seems calmer in the short time they've had her.

I don't see Itchel becoming as tame as Messi, not to live inside the house and be trusted completely: she wasn't tamed from very young like Messi (which "sees itself" more like a domestic pet.) I also suspect Itchel and Messi would end up in a nasty fight if sharing the same space. But what I understand from the comments about her background, Itchel is in better hands that before, even if she ends up living in the cage the rest of her life. If that's the case, I am sure the cage will look different over the years, with a pool, bushes and more places to climb and platforms to sleep on.

She'll calm down in time; she deserves to be happy and in captivity a Cheetah can live up to 20 years (I googled) so it's nice that she is in a real home. I can't abide circuses that use animals.

I can’t get over how much healthier she looks. She was so thin at first and now she looks a perfect weight. She is very interested in her surroundings and not frightened anymore. She is going through the motions of hissing but it’s very half hearted.
