I always have citric acid powder on hand, so I would use that instead of fresh citris, which is more expensive here.

Limes and lemons are a bit too expensive where I live to even think of using them to clean pans. I'll stick to using a scouring pad, and then relax with a gin & tonic with a slice of lemon or lime in it!

I don’t understand how someone allows pots and pans get so dirty. I had 4 children and worked, did and still do my own house work. I had Revere Ware copper bottom pots and cleaned them after use. Teach your children to lend a hand.

Priorities and what people view as important are very individual. I personally see no point in making the bottoms of my everyday pots and pans look all shiny. Yes, I do make sure any food residue is cleaned but the rest is just pure aesthetics that are not important in my life. But hey, if you want to shine your pans after each use, feel free to do so.
