The F16s major Achilles heal is it requires a pristine airbase to operate from. Its landing gear is designed to work from a finished airport or airbase runway. Not to mention the engine air intake is low on the nose. Making it susceptible to ingesting fod. An airbase in the middle of a war is anything but pristine.
