When Putin was asked to name his heroes, who he admired,he gave 3 names: all people who expanded the Russian Empire. One of those was Stalin. Putin was also asked what was the worst disaster of the 20th century. Putin said it was the fall of the Soviet Union- not WW1 or WW2.
Good thing Russia isn't the Soviet Union or even a tiny fraction as powerful then lol. Remember Ukraine did far more fighting than actual russians did in the USSR.
This comment is perfectly right... and absolutely wrong. As always, we make the mistake of not understanding that, for Russians, human beings, wellness, economy, everything is disposable when it comes to "the greater good", which is usually a benefit for the empire/state/boss. Stalin achieved a lot by exploiting his own people. From a Russian perspective, he achieved a lot, period. The fact that he lost millions of people is not relevant.
@@jessetuomi9588 Stalin won WW2. The Wehrmacht was responsible for the Huge losses. Typical German trooper had three times the combat effectiveness. You do the math.
His ego and his pride will keep Russia at war for a very long time. Despite the fact that it’s been a losing proposition since day one. He gambled, but he lost. He just can’t admit it yet.
Come on Putin. Surrender now. Enough is enough. You are useless. Ukraine have proved that they are far better than your country for fighting. You seem to forget that Ukrainean people are brilliant fighters. Their forefathers from century's ago were brilliant fighters. They always won . They are strong. Putin. Time to give up on Ukraine now. You have Nazis now in your country. Lol. Your own people are the Nazis. Ukraine are not.
The fact the Ukrainians were fighting with one hand behind their back for so long let the russians get so complacent is the only reason this kind of operation has been so successful so far. After this, all troops might need to return home to defend their border if they do not want this to happen again.
Putin has continually issued vague nuclear threats. Unfortunately for him nuclear retaliation is only of value as a deterrent. Once it has failed to deter, how is it of any use? If used then you will definitely have lost. If not used at least you still have a chance of saving something.
It is also very interesting for China. Xi is watching this SMO turn into a political and economic disaster for Russia. Putin has surrounded himself with quaking Yes men. Anyone who doesn't tell him what he wants to hear falls out of a window.
Russia is worthless in any case beyond the natural resources found there. Plenty of Russians agree: my neighborhood is full of people from Russia and other Soviet republics. I don't see them going back
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 The polls are now positive for Harris. However they can be misleading, they show intention but doesn't imply action. The Democrats will have to persuade voters to actually get out and vote.
Reminds me of my former boss. Ex personal bodyguard of Lee Kuan Yew for years and fancied that that made him a second Lee Kuan Yew too. Same demanding, slightly abusive, slavedriver personality but without any of the brains, vision, or leadership of the great man.
Silly. Trun off msm it's not doing you any of you any good, cough, ghost of Kiev. This was a PR move, a PR win which the msm will shill. Lets see where we are in 2wks.
@@davidleonard37 How it works in Russia when Putin messes up. Putin blames a General. The General blames a Colonel. The Colonel blame a Sargent. The Sargent blames a Private. The Private gets liquidated. A family gets a bag of onions.
Putin is doing more to destroy Russia in the last 2 1/2 years than all the decades of the Cold War did by the west. They’ve been exposed as a 3rd world power who bluffed the whole world for the last 50 years into thinking they were formidable.
There is a much more important development that you don’t even mention. China and Turkey have announced they are now refusing to take the ruble but rather all payments MUST be made in the US dollar. Watch this space.
I think Ukraine only has to hold Kursk for 2 months. After the 1st month, disaffection with Putin will spread fast. By the 2nd month that disaffection will be unstoppable. By October, Russians will be thinking of another revolution.
It reminds me of how before the 2nd counter-offensive, a military expert mentioned Ukraine needed to find a weak point in the front to cause chaos in the russian troops. We might be seeing that happen now. Ukrainians could dig in and hit enemy locations with good intelligence, resort to guerilla warfare, or do a pincer maneuver on the russian defensive lines (remember, the last line is designed to shoot anyone retreating, not to engage in combat).
Russians are incapable of coherent thoughts and cannot think for themselves which is why they chose putler to do the thinking for them. Quite pitiful actually.
Unfortunately russians are depoliticized and they don't have any notion of critic thinking and notions of free political will and beleives. It wont happen any sort of revolution... It might creat some doubts about the "contract" they have with Putin and his officials (Dont mind politics, we take care of everything)
Never underestimate the ruzzian ability to do mental gymnastics. They can tell you yes is no & believe it. Or at least pretend to believe it wholeheartedly.
That's the real problem with incessant lying. Since there is no real truth to act as a reference point the narrative suffers particularly over time as the lying has to constantly be 'tweaked'.
It would be interesting to know if the type of soldier being taken prisoner by Ukraine in Kursk Oblast will have an effect. They tend to be conscripts, as conscripts cannot be sent abroad. And they are younger, 18-30 mainly. So they are more likely to be ethnic Russians. This is opposed to the Russian Army in Ukraine, which has recruited heavily from its ethnic minorities and social outcast - prisoners, for example.
This will absolutely bother residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg et al. So far it hasn't affected their kids and there no way Putin can cover up the losses and prisoners taken.
When I saw the Pundits starting to mention losing live on TV, they're preparing their people for a loss and the fact this has been discussed on state TV blew my mind! They know they're out of time
Russia would be better off surrendering to Ukraine, such that Zelenski can help both countries recover. Currently, only the oligarchs would be opposed to this because their personal wealth depends upon keeping the Russian economy under their thumbs.
? ? ? ? ? . LOL ! Give us all a break ! They are little more than a Washington corporate swamp mouth piece spouting out the latest ' approved ' narrative !
Russian citizen dissatisfaction is likely to increase as the refugees from Ukraine's incursions are relocated nearer Moscow. This will get more boisterous as the weather gets freezing cold. Imagine if next Ukraine takes territory south of the current incursion and the number of refugees swells to several hundred thousand Russians. Many who have lost everything. Including their jobs, houses and possessions.
...and if the substations of the Kursk NPP stop working, so that the Russians have to shut it down and it gets cold and the railways will stop working...
Putin is like Stalin....he is deporting the inhabitants of parts of Kursk Oblast ( at least 120000 so far) to a war zone in Ukraine 😞 Putin is beyond odious
Once again you have used someone to write your headline who is ignorant of the rules of English grammar. The word Ukrainians does not have an apostrophe in this context. It is just a straightforward plural.
From one pedant to another: you neglected to point out two other errors in the title, namely; the incorrect spelling of "Ukrainians", and the incorrect spelling of Mark Gallioti's surname...😊😉
@@regina565 You _also_ spelt Galeotti's surname wrong 😂 But there's no excuse for the summer intern running this channel to release a vid with "Ukranian" in the title. A spell checker from 1980 would've picked up on that!
@@regina565You fell foul of one of the laws of commenting: when you criticise someone else’s grammar or spelling you almost invariably make an error yourself. In your case it was ‘Gallioti’ it’s actually Galeotti.
@@Shatterfury1871Do you really think it will take that long? I don't, Russia is ruled by the oligarchs, and they've already lost hundreds of billions in seized yachts, aircraft, bank accounts, real estate, etc, etc, etc. They get tired of losing, Putins finished.
I don't think so. As long as Putin is physically in Moscow he can sustain his dictatorship. Most of the people he controls are in Moscow. So long as his influence remains direct & close by he can sustain the circus he's got going on.

The only reason its gone on this long is because Putin has been waiting for the MAGA voters response to the US election. People are dying because Putin was hoping MAGA voters would vote Trump back in.
