I honestly don't mind government ID, as long as the ID is free and easy to get; like most of the controversy about voter ID laws in the US are about how difficult it is to actually get an ID in the US. Departments that only open one day out of a week, or less only one day a month, forms that cost you hundreds of dollars to process; if the ID was available and enough funds put into the DMV to process and fulfill requests, sure, I don't see the problem with it.
Well obviously not as he has not been arrested or charged with anything. However government's would be foolish not to take action when its a matter of geopolitical stability and national security. This is nothing new, it was a huge topic throughout the mid to late 20th century during the cold war, and far far worse then anything today.

If you consider either or both of Musk and Putin to be 'highly intelligent', it only implies that you are not. Regarding 'resourceful'... there is no doubt that both of them have access to, and the capacity to mobilize, vast resources, but that's as far as it goes. There is, of course, no problem in itself with 'swapping ideas about the future of humanity' - it's something that billions of people do. The problem lies in being willing to unilaterally ignore that humanity and it's wishes in mobilizing resources to determine its future trajectory... that's a God Complex that only warrants a bullet or two.
