Why is there even the thought that there needs to be justification for Ukraine to enter Russia? Russia started the war by invading and have continued to pour troops and munitions to attack Ukraine; of course Ukrain is justified to do the same in response if their strategy calls for it.
Not in Russian history books. Even the Chernobyl disaster never made it into their recent history books. Like the old Soviet Union, Russia doesn't have disasters! Everybody seems to have forgotten the Kursk submarine and its abandoned crew because Putin didn't want to use the outside help that was offered from day one.
Where the Russians have partially evacuated those who remain have already started to loot the usual "high value items" i.e. toilets, washing machines etc.
Seems after only 24hrs on the job Putin has replaced FSB dude with, his own bodyguard. If true, well first. It's HILARIOUS. If true, it means Putins inner circle is reduced to fewer satellites than Pluto has.
@@Sean12248 Give it a day to confirm. If true, things have gotten seriously bonkers in the Kremlin. I mean new level bonkers. An accountant is currently the defense minister.
If your neighbour forces his way into your small house and will not leave, you see his larger house across the street, are you right in going into his house? Of course you are.
@@LisaPavlouFinancial Times published an article 6 months ago where half of the worlds most respected economist said the Russian Federation will be a failed state & collapse within the next 8 years and 11 new independent countries will arise from the ashes. The Russian government has collapsed twice in the last 100 years and it’s about to do it for a third time and there is little doubt about that. Dictators like Putin always fall very fast, in the blink of an eye they are exiled or killed.
In Russia we like to order "animal style". You might to confuse this with USA Devilish freedom mongers In N Out. But it is russian invention. Animal style in russia means u eat out of a trough. Very popular in russian regions
1:11 1) Ukraine did not invade russia; 2) russia invaded Ukraine; 3) russia did not exist in 1945; 4) so called "moscow military power" in times of russian empire and soviet union was based on ukrainians.
40% of the WWII Soviet army was Ukrainian yet Russia thinks that it single-handedly won the war, even though the Arctic convoys from the allies continued to supply them with essential supplies.
Russian residents in Ukraine were subjected to eight years of bombardment attacks by their own government. Russia had no choice , they had their hands tied. If for example Ireland was given back Northen Ireland and then they were bombed relentlessly , would the people of the UK not demand our Government protect the citizens residing there?
Ukraine doesn't even hold elections in the Ukraine, so quite how they are going to hold one in an area that has been completely evacuated and where there are no people is going to be a challenge.
that was the weakest point of putler..he thought ukraine cant invade russia!because of europe wont allow it. russia whole tactics was formed arround that! now it fals apart offcourse....
Russians liked the idea of having a Tsar as long as he didnt cause them much problems. Right now, this Tsar seems to stretch that to the breaking point. It will be interesting to see how this will end.
Apparently Geradimov is out and so is someone from the KGB who replaced him, now a bodyguard has been put up as the next military leader. They will end up having the cleaning lady doing the job at this rate! And like all men they would expect her to clean the floor as well!
To create internal Russian discontent against Putin, Russians in Moscow and St Petersburg need to fell discontent. I have been across Russia. These two cities are socially different to the rural areas. The initial internal uprising against Alexandria (Nicholas II was away on campaign) was in St Petersburg in 1917.
germany invaded russia in 1941 but Phillip Ingram is refreshing to listen to, not the usual downplaying Ukraine military strength and exaggerating russian military
So much is possible now, if they go south they can disrupt supply lines and potentially encircle the forces in the south. Or at least force them into defensive positions draining valuable fighters from other areas.
To be fair America is pretty much Ukraines sponsor at this point after they’ve sent over 90 billon dollars, they are pretty invested they know Russia was in the wrong to begin with so they don’t mind supporting the underdog defend itself
Ukraine is not trying to tie up Russian forces. First they can come behind the invasion forces at Kharkiv. Second they can use Russia defense lines for a buffer. And third, they are on their way to Moscow.
The thing that Ukrainians are maybe doing at Donbas is letting Russians get in their territory. It's easier to scoop the enemy if you let them think they are advancing in the middle. Tactics used by many generals in the past. Famous gen Miltiades has let Persians who vastly outnumbered the Athenians to take the middle and then closed the door on them from the flanks. If Russians are loosing a 1000 troops a day, it's a steep price of any small advancement.
Is the presenter kidding?.. "brings us to that difficult file line between self defence and incursion into somebody else's territory". Boofhead comments are of no value to listeners.
Thanks to the failed Russian border crossing towards Kharkiv earlier this year, Ukraine is now allowed to use Western weapons on Russian territory. That creates the following problems for Russia: 1) Suddenly, literally suddenly, the Russians have to protect an additional 500 - 600 km of front. From now on, the Ukrainians will also occasionally "take a look" at other places in Russia. Ukraine has had to station many troops there for more than two years, now the Russians too. The frontline before the 6th of August was probably 1500 km or so, now the Russians have to dilute the same soldiers over 2100 km. But if you assume that the Dnipro is not as strongly defended and possibly even some of the other defenses are so strong, that not a lot of soldiers are required, the dilution is probably a factor of 50% (600 km “moving” front becomes 1200 km moving front). 2) The Russians have already shown in recent days that they are taking very poorly prepared counter-actions. This costs the Russians a lot of people and equipment. Because a mixture of hastily relocated brigades has arrived in the area, communication is chaotic. Rybar reports that even their own troops have come under fire. This is expected to become less chaotic in the coming weeks, but the Russians are showing in Donetsk Oblast and on the left bank of the Dnipro how you can waste people in Meatwaves. 3) Because the Kremlin is in a panic, it will, for example, focus the use of glide bombs mainly on the Ukrainians in Kursk. The Ukrainians will be able to set up their trenches, foxholes and fortifications largely in forests, which means that dropping those horrible glide bombs will also cost fewer Ukrainians lives than it does now in the east. 4) The F16 is here! I don't know, but extra Russian bombers could easily fall out of the sky because they are now blindly sending them to get the Ukrainians out of there, and they are taking too many risks. 5) Ukraine has deployed a great deal of equipment for modern warfare in this invasion. They are jamming Russian communications, they have a great many drones with their pilots in the area, they have brought the latest electronic countermeasures. All because UA knew in advance that the Russians are going to do everything they can to recapture the area. So instead of trying to protect 1500 km of front electronically (and there were many gaps in that), you now only have to concentrate on about 50 km of new front line. 6) The location of the border crossing is extremely well chosen. From Sudza there are mainly star-shaped local / provincial roads to the outside. The Ukrainians will have to block those roads in particular. Initially, the Russians will drive in columns behind each other on these roads as before and then be slaughtered. 7) Politically it could go in all directions And yes, many Ukrainian soldiers will also lose their lives, but it could easily be 20 dead or captured Russians per single Ukrainian casualty. Ukraine really needs such a ratio to wear Russia down.
Let’s not forget a key point; China will be watching just how easily Ukraine have walked into a large area of Russia and how little resistance they’ve faced.
well Putin fired Garasimov and replaced him with the FSB chief Bortnikov, yep Bortikov has ZERO military and combat experience hahahah, this will be a DISASTER. Maybe Ukraine will now conquer Moscow hahahah.
In International law , the status of the Falklands has not been decided. So, it is not part of UK but a dependant territory and its status is not determined .
I wish commentators would stop talking about escalating into nuclear. That obviously was and is not an option for Putin despite his threats because that would ensure Russias own annihilation.
"Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko ordered reinforcements sent to border areas near Ukraine following reports of several aerial targets from Ukraine getting shot down over Belarus on the evening of August 9."
I don't believe that what Ukraine needed was further stretching of it's armed forces. They can't hold on the territories that were prepared for the attacks for 8 years, how are they going to hold on the unprepared territories, what's the long term plan? In the meantime the Russian forces didn't stop advancing towards Pokrovsk which is essential for Ukraine, but they traded it for this PR stunt. No sign of protests in Russia, just more consolidation. I don't believe Ukraine can hold to these territories for more then 2 months, prior to the elections in US, then they will withdraw, paying a big price for this "media victory".
I don't like this at all! Did Ukraine have to get the approval of its western allies before starting this action? If they did then aren't we declaring war on Russia by association with invasion?
FT just published russian navy maps, where Norway, Germany and England targets are identified for russian nukes! Ukraine decimated Black Sea russian fleet to decrease that probability!
That's the way it's supposed to be Putin brought it in Ukraine head back if I have Ukraine and I can keep going I will keep going do not stop keep going
Can you please discuss why the UK government doesn't allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadows against Russian troops in its latest operation? Despite everything we've learned about Russian "Red Lines" by now?
@@JohnBooth-bl3rh The French are dictating how British weapons can be used? There's a Brexit joke in there somewhere, but never mind. Jut bloody come out and say "Ukraine can use our weapons, not the French ones", guaranteed to direct the "blame" in the right direction. Russians are already blaming "Anglo-Saxons" for everything under the sun, including, hilariously, America's very existence.
