12:27 I've both installed and lived with that style of floating lock-together flooring. One very important thing - especially if the floor is going to get direct sunlight or experience wide temperature swings - is to leave room around the edges for thermal expansion (which you can hide under baseboards or other trim). Otherwise, as the flooring heats up it will have nowhere to grow and will buckle itself up off the subfloor quite noticeably. Really happy to see more Itty Bitty content. Can't wait to see what you & the guys get up to with her.

I am almost as pumped as you are to see this project on the water. The Itty Bitty is what originally brought me to the channel. Didn't know about your old work, or Norm, or watch fishing videos in general. My interest was more in tiny houses and water adventures. Hence trailerable house boat. Please keep shooting the tiny annoying to film and edit construction. And more frequent but shorter updates would be appreciated. Give us 10 minutes more often. Doesn't have to be a full 30. The updates too can be... Itty Bitty

Glad to see the progress ! One suggestion on drilling through metal. Use a hole punch to tap an indentation in the metal where the center of your drill hole will be. Secure the metal w clamps or a vise to make it more stable. Start with a drill bit about 1/2 the size of the final diameter you want. A drop of oil in the drill hole cavity helps alot. Drill through, then switch to the final diameter drill bit.

I recommend “Clear Silicone” caulk behind every exterior fiberglass intrusion into the boats hull. They will absolutely leak if not and you will begin to have standing water in the bottom of your hull.

That flooring looked exactly like the stuff I used in our 2000sq ft house. I did it all in one piece with no breaks between rooms. I hope you put 1/4” gaps around it because it will expand and contract. And with no gaps it will start to buckle.

You should put big stainless steel washers on each bolt for your flood lights on top. You should also put sealant in the holes and on the bolts before you put them through.
@tjocho
@tjocho 6 месяцев назад
I usually trace a "gasket" type thingy with the sealant on the bottom of anything that is going to be bolted on the hull, on top of what you suggested with the "holes and bolts". Be generous with sealant or its just a matter of surprisingly short time before you get a new hull rot or leak.

Ayo, there are two methods to drill metal. When drilling thicker metal go slow with a lot of pressure. (Anything over an 1/8in). When drilling thinner metal you can go a little faster with less pressure. ( Anything under an 1/8in). The same rules apply to drill-bit size, smaller drill-bit go faster with less pressure, bigger drill-bit go slower with more pressure. Those two tips make a huge difference when your drilling metal. Also try to keep both the drill-bit and the surface you’re drilling cooled down with drilling oil. Or any kind of non-flammable lubricant if you have to improvise. (Not recommended but works. 😉) Last year for work I built a massive 60ftx100ftx20ft commercial steel building and everything from the framing to the paneling on the walls were made from metal. We had to pre-drill 90% of our screw and bolt holes and those few tips are what made the difference between using tens of drill-bits and using hundreds of drill-bits on the whole building. 😂 I hope this reaches you and helps in the future!

It's not always possible, because they can be bumped/snagged easier, but I think if you mounted those light brackets on a vertical surface (side of the boat or wall for instance) instead of a horizontal surface (deck, roof, etc.) you'd get the full range of tilt without having to...modify...them 😆I say that with nothing but love, as I sport my Itty Bitty shirt while I do every step of my own projects twice. Dear Ayo, Let me start by saying that I know you want the Itty Bitty boat to be done more than anyone. You embarked on quite the project a couple of years ago and most people wouldn't have endured what you have to see it through. As a folllower of your content from the first Itty Bitty video, I desperately want to see the next video in the series. I don't even care if the boat is finished during that episode or not. You are my favorite RU-vidr that I've come across and I look forward to each new release. The Itty Bitty series, however, is by far my favorite content and I've been patient for much longer than I thought I'd have to be based off of your previous communication. During the final minutes of the most recent Itty Bitty RU-vid update, your direct quote was "I think In a few weeks we're gonna see the old girl done, which for the first time I actually mean it." The video was posted October 15th, 136 days ago now. At the start of the new year, I was getting more and more anxious for another update to release with each new day. I kept wanting to comment asking where the new video was, but I held off. Then, on January 9th, you posted an Itty Bitty update on Instagram with this next quote in the caption. "After two years, we are a couple weeks away from coverin this bad girl with fat sallies." I was thrilled to hear you were close and I was thankful I didn't reach out to ask where the update was. Well, it has now been 136 days since you initially said that you were only a few weeks away from the Itty Bitty being done, AND you actually meant it. It's also been 50 days since your last Instagram update for the Itty Bitty where you again said you were only a couple weeks away. Please give us a new video soon, even if the Itty Bitty isn't done. I'm sure I'm not the only one who just misses the old girl and wants to catch up with how she's been doing. Thank you for always putting out fire content. I can't wait to watch more soon.

Itty-bitty was the reason I originally subscribed. I've enjoyed all your videos since then. But seeing more progress on the old girl always brings a bigger smile to my face. GREAT WORW SIR!!

Don’t think about how much money you spending, think of it as an investment. The boat is going to be beautiful once you’re done, think positive!!!

Not just that but the videos mean it's going to be far cheaper than the cost for others to do it so he's getting a nice boat and content that people enjoy watching. On top of that at the end of the day it's about the life experience, the learning and the feeling of accomplishment from doing most of it himself and lastly he just needs to remember why he's doing it, what he'll get from it at the end, the experiences he'll have with his mates and a boat he can not just be proud of but really take places and do things he'd never, ever do otherwise.

That boat's very amazing. The guy you bought it from is probably so happy he got rid of it. You put a lot of work into it in.The previous owner probably did not realize how much work it needed. Congrats to the boat journey looking good 👊
