Dave, I think it's really cool that you have a knife shop and still use other companies blade blanks to build a knife. I enjoy building knives from quality blanks and think all knife enthuses should try it.

Dave, it's been a couple of years since this video, so I'm wondering if you would tell us how the use of Gorilla Glue has held up after this time, and to actual use. Do you still do it this way? I'm always afraid of having the handle come off if I don't use pins and epoxy together. Thank you.

Enjoyed the video. Prefer pins and epoxy over gorilla glue. But I am a firm believer in that you ride your mule the way you want and I will ride my mule the I want. Still it is a nice looking knife. Good job done. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

You need to use water to really activate the glue. Read the directions.

All I can say is we have made over 10,000 knives now at PFS never using water to activate and never had a complaint?

There's a semi-circle cutout towards the bottom of those tangs. I'd be inclined to drill a hole in the handle and put a pin through there for extra support. That pin will never fail, whereas 2, or 5, or 10 years down the line that gorilla glue might weaken with use.

Looks like a winner. I might have pick up one of those blanks and see if I can't ruin a perfectly good knife. Though this looks almost foolproof. I've just seriously jinxed myself.

I always used to worry about a knife not being full tang... but realised they do have their place a little Mora type knife is great for doing "small tasks".. Leave the full tang robustness for the bigger bushcraft/survival knife like the Mora Garberg :)

Nice stuff:) I have a Mora classic 3 . I sanded down the handle and carved some grooves and such and modified the shape a bit, it feels great in the hand now. Does not slip at all. I think I might like to get a blank 2.0 for small crafting/whittling work..and maybe get another no. 3 and make my own handle as you've done here:) Thank you sir, love the vids, haven't visited you in a while here. Be well and keep your topknot tight:)

awesome, walnut isn't so cheap. Glad you guys are finding ways to get the most out of that lumber. Everybody has their own preference so being able to carve or shape a handle to your own liking is fantastic. One day I hope to have the skills to shape a handle for my esee knives. love the blades, not a huge fan of the handles (wee small hands).

Did you make that belt sander/grinder? It's good to see that you think of the needs of those with such interests as your making this video for. Having a central location and store that offers resources for others who do things for themselves is a great help. You're a good man Dave. Thanks.
