Putting a Kawasaki Voyager Seat on a Vaquero.

In this video I show you what is needed to install a Voyager seat on your Vaquero.
This was done to my 2011 Vaquero.
Here is a parts list for what I used in this video.
Rear Seat fender mount.

Nuts for rear seat fender mount. You will need 2.

These parts where needed because I used the Optional Gel seat and it did not come with these parts.
Rear seat front latch bracket.

Front seat rear mounting bracket.

Nuts to mount seat brackets. You will need 4 of these.

Front seat rear bracket damper. You will need 2 of these.

Seat dampers. You will need 9 of these.

The seat I used was the factory option Kawasaki Gel seat.
Front seat part number is K53001-217

I am not 100% sure but I think this seat might be discontinued at this point.

Thanks got a 2014 nomad and just brought a 2022 vaquero and going to put nomad seat and sissy bar on new bike and put the old vaquero seat back on the nomad for when I trade it on the new bike Cheers 🍻from new Zealand 🇳🇿

Omg! Thank you for this. I took my front seat off to replace the battery a week ago and couldn’t get it back on. I didn’t realize I had to remove the back seat as well.🤦🏼‍♀️ I monkeyed with that seat for 2 hours and then gave up. Took forever to find a video of how to put it back on. 2 minutes. Thank you.

Good job man, I have one question. When you installed the bracket for the rear seat, how did you know where to drill the holes. Thanx.

The holes in the fender are already there. No need to drill anything.

Are you talking about like a seat to move you farther back on the bike? Or bars with more reach so you dont have to lean over the tank as much?

Can you send link for the passenger backrest pls I bout the brackets to mount on the fairing and also the backrest I can’t find the side plates that attaches both parts together Thanks for video

Sorry I have no idea where to get the parts you need. The back rest and its mounting brackets came installed on the bike when I bought it. My understanding is this has been discontinued and is no longer sold as new. I do know it was a dealer option sold by Kawasaki, so you might be able to find some new old stock some place, but likely you will need to find used parts if you want this exact back rest system.

Hello I bought a 2023 Vulcan Vaquero but my didn’t like it seats I’m wanting put a Voyager seat on it Could help me figure out where I get a seat Or how to change it somehow Please

For the seat just buy one for the voyager. You can find used ones all over the place or get like a Corbin, Mustang, Or Ultimate seat if you want a really good one. The rest of the parts need are in the description of the video, and the video should be all you need to get it installed.

Did you ever figure out how to solo seat the bike?

No. The rear seat has the latch system on it, so it would be very hard to try and make it work as a solo seat. Best bet would be to have the stock seat cut up, and reworked and turn that in to a solo seat. Think it would look goofy though since you going to this odd looking section behind the seat just for the latch to work.

@@BadmunkyWRX but the vaquero seat and a nomad seat would be interchangeable?just smaller passenger seat and would be a single seat not two pieces? Correct?

@@chrislewis9345 I don't know if the Nomad seat will work for sure or not. I know the Voyager seat works on the Vaquero after the mods in my video. And then the Vaquero seat does not work correctly any more as the rear hook for the back seat is in the way. But you might be able to modify the stock Vaquero seat to still work and could for sure have that cut down to make a solo seat. But it's probably going to look funny since like 1/3 of the rear seat will still need to be there to cover the latch system.

Yes I see the latch setup...I'm wanted to be able to use either seat. Use the nomad if wife is on...and use the vaquero without the sissy bar when she's not...
