ken in the workroom like "i got a hair transplant, a face lift, lip filler, removed two ribs, got a bbl, had my toes shaven- and that's just what i did this year"
When I was a little girl in the 1980's we always dressed Ken in the pretty Barbie clothes and called her Olga, Babrie's butch Swedish friend. This is giving me somewhere between Biqtch Puddin and Crystal Method and I LOVE it. Also laughing because gluing your earrings down is so drag.
Im your typical 58 year old woman... I have to say I am so happy I found your video, what fun.... and you are so talented. Its amazing actually and I hope to see more of you. You have brought a little joy to this old gal. I am recently widowed and on my own. I have been looking for some joy and YOU made my day ❤
name suggestion: Polly VinylChloride. Also...for those of us who aren't as skilled in shoe making.. the WWE Superstars dolls pumps perfectly fit a made to move Ken.
Ken absolutely slays this iconic look! The silhouette, the glitter, the hair, the highlighter - everything is top tier. Happy Pride and thanks for doing this collab with us! 🌈💖
@@HeXtian I'm sorry if I'm being too thirsty but I absolutely love your content. Would love to see you do the Winx Club characters. Please please please It would be sooooo awesome if you did
This is so cool! The first 5 minutes was like watching a serial killer dismantling a human body; then the video turned into the bts of plastic surgery; and finally seeing the transformation from Ken Doll to Kendall!
I think Kendra is a good switch on his name :) He looks SO stunning, even better than I expected! Part of me kinda wish you kept his original figure and worked around it, but your sculpting is so beautiful so it's hard to complain :)
Awee thank you so much :) that’s a good name too! I wanted to cinch the waist because i thought it’d be cool to see a very muscled body still present a high femme look! 💕
I know this is silly to say because it's literally a doll, but the way it seemed that Ken stood there politely while you painted their nails was cute. Very pretty!
I've seen someone king up a Draculaura before... um, or actually, i think someone did "turn Barbie into a boy" (the video title is along those lines >_>)
"Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before..." - Lady Gaga
Totally obsessed with you choosing the OG Barbie swimsuit for Ken in Drag. Brilliant! Thank u so much for collabing with me. I always have fun working with u ⭐️
Waist? Snatched. Wig? Slayed. Heels? Pumped. Makeup? Flawless. A$$? Fat. Toes? Cut. Ken- or shall I say Kendra- (@Gwennifer for the name!) looked aboustely breathtaking! The waist, makeup, BBL, heels, everything! Kendra slayed the fit, which was fitted by the luminescent and radiant Designer HeXtian! Love every doll you do!
Coming from a small, conservative town, drag was SO WEIRD to me when I first saw it. Ofc there are lots of cliches and people shittalking people who do it, but I just learned to love it as an art form. Honestly, everyone who has the skill and motivation and TIME to turn their face into an artwork has my full respect and admiration. It also helped me explore my own makeup skills, I don't wear super heavy makeup, but it is definitely a lot more than I wore to school five years ago.
Following drag queens on YT (like Violet Chachki, Katya... I wanna say Trixie, but I won't do myself like that in these comments 😭) is what took my makeup game from bench to court.
The most incredible show I have ever been to was a drag show!! better than any concert I've been to any been to any event I've ever been to... It's just the best environment ever
@@alyssahamlett We did have one in my country last year (I think there won't be a second season tho, which is really sad), it was the first time I really saw drag and I honestly loved it. They had such cool personalities and looks, they seemed like genuinely nice and fun people and their makeup skills are next level. I'm really hoping for a second season. It was fun to watch.
“I thought it would be fun to have him shave, like a real drag process” *cut to Ken being literally cut in half* I laughed so hard for that 😂 so natural! I love how this turned out though! I would say we need a drag doll, but heaven and hell knows Mattel could never do it justice like you did.
I've heard from a lot of different drag queens that they usually aren't sold on their makeup until some of the very final steps, so I think this process was really true to life lol. You did a great job :)
@@HeXtian have you heard of youtubers like nostalgia critic, angry video game nerd, cinema snob, film brain, obscurus lupa, linkara, phelous, nostalgia chick, todd in the shadows, and rap critic
Nobody: Barbie: *having a moment because her boyfriend looks better than her* But honestly, this doll beautiful as always! I've been wanting to draw Ken in one of Barbies outfits or in drag and seeing this made me decide to do actually do it (still deciding what outfit to do), it's so nice to see someone else has my thought process. For some reason, Ken in drag feels right. I can't explain it.
I think its because Ken’s have always been kinda “pretty” boys, if that makes sense, but not always in the f-boy way, just more like they genuinely like that look, making this perfect XD Just a theory, a Ken theory
Depending on what Era your "Ken" will be in, no matter what, you Must have Pink somewhere, I would love to see a little Tommy trying to dress as Ken with lipstick smeared mascara a bit smudged, and a dress hanging off his little body, LoLz.
Her name is clearly Ken Dahl as a nod to her origins. Although this was a lot of fun. I'm kind of curious how Barbie would look trying to copy the original Ken look.
Not to detract from your awesome work, you did flawlessly on that Drag Doll. What angered me the most about this video was the fact Mattel can't decide whether or not they want Ken to have brown hair or blonde hair, since to them, it's cool for Ken to have blonde hair with brown eyebrows.
@gneurshk Depending on the blonde scale, you can get quite dark brows or practically non-existent ones (skin tone also plays a lot into this, as does genetics) I'm a natural blonde, though my hair has darkened down to more of a mousey colour in recent years thanks to stress, and my brows are more of a pale brown (not far from the Ken in this videos brows actually now I think about it) with lighter blonde individual hairs. One of my aunts, however, has always had much lighter blond hair, and her brows are very light unless she darkens them with makeup, for example
Blonde eyebrows only happen with very light blondes, we talking Norwegian types of blonde. Facial hair usually is darker than the hair, not just brows but lashes and bear as well, so imo this light brown is very fitting.
Yeah lol. I had one as a kid and the cold water would make the beard disappear for awhile before it warmed back up. My kids just got their first shaving ken doll. There’s came with much cooler things though like an entire sink vanity.
This might be my favorite doll you've ever done! The process with the makeup especially! It literally looked so much like the drag makeup looks I see our local queens do for their gigs! You really popped off!
This is one of the best representative & celebratory doll transformations I've seen so far. Probably one of the best concepts ever. I saw someone suggest Kendall in the comments, & I think it hits the mark ^_^
I love that you made Ken a drag version of the first, original Barbie doll 😁 I have the anniversary edition of it, treasure it and think this is way too cool!
i think the name kendal would be perfect for her- like a play on ken doll? i’m sure someone’s already suggested that but it was the first thing that sprang to my mind!
Another masterpiece! Also, I don’t know who came up with the “hot glue for acrylic nails” trick but I’m never not impressed because that really is some Big Brain Energy there. Also cutting off Ken’s toes to work for shoes is giving serious Grimm’s Cinderella vibes.
I think Ken here is giving Patrick Swayze in his role in Thanks For Everything, Wong Fu! I think it's a really cool (if unintentional) callback to a really important movie culturally
She is, as are many drag queens, drop dead gorgeous! I would love to see you make another, leaving the original body, and creating the illusion with the clothing.
oh my god he looks ✨DI-VI-NE✨ Anyway, I recommend that when you forget to make the holes before making the face, you take some tweezers or something to hold a pin with and not hurt yourself, find a lighter and heat the pin until it's hot enough to pierce the plastic without doing much damage. It can be a bit difficult but it's a good way to not damage your work and still make it look fantastic.
No need to thank! You could also use the tip of a hot glue gun, just push the plastic slowly with the hot tip but I recommend that for larger projects. You know, the tip of a glue gun is too big for something as small as putting earrings on Ken. Lol
When I saw this was a pride collab I literally screamed bcs thanks to your Sasha velour doll (which was also a pride collab) I got introduced to the art of drag and it has changed my life tremendously, thank u so much!!!!
Loooooooooove this! Your videos are so satisfying to watch! Not sure if anyone has suggested this or if you've ever tried this (sorry if you have), but have you ever considered using an e-file with fine-grit sanding bands to gently refine the harder to reach parts of the doll you build on? Manually sanding each nook and cranny must be so hard 😅
My god, who gave her the RIGHT!! Absolutely fantastic, stunning, gorgeous, beat to the gods, i love her. As for a name- well, he's Barbie's Girl tonight, we love a bi queen after all
I love this custom it's so beautiful and one of a kind, you should call her Kendra Milly because she's paying omagge to the Ms. Barbara Millicent Roberts.
My friend saw me watching this and asked “why are you watching someone give Barbie painted nails” and I was like, “that’s ken, he’s becoming a drag queen.” She just said “oh. You watch weird stuff.”😂
I just found your channel through Poppen Atelier. I really love your work, and now I’m binging on your videos! You are so talented, and Ken looks fabulous!💜
:0000 oh my gosh I love this!! The curves and everything look so good I had no idea when seeing your pic that it was originally a ken doll. Beautiful job 💖 thanks for collabing with meeee
There's something about this doll that reminds me of Derrick Barry a little bit. It's gorgeous but all of them are. Thanks to Hextian the dolls really are the dolls at this point.
As always, such a great work💖💖💖 Hey, maybe, you will make Ningguang doll? I think, you will make this beautiful lady so gorgeous in your style! Or, maybe, Kaeya >w> (omg I want to see Itto in your style >< )
