That's a first for me. I've never seen them broken apart before. Although they are nice looking. I like pre 1964 90% silver U.S. Constitutional for my fractional silver. $1.40 of any combination of dimes, quarters, and half dollars equal an ounce.

as most people don’t know what silver is and don’t know about constitutional silver it would be far harder to convince someone to barter with that than something like this. i’ve never liked constitutional personally though. except much of it is worn and actually less than if it was uncirculated. a lot of it is terribly worn thus less silver content and almost impossible to get exact silver content for pricing/bartering. I personally would not want constitutional from someone trying to barter with.

@@TheWorldisaLIE2 I actually have very little constitutional and even less fractional silver. I think I probably would have less trouble with constitutional then a 1/10 oz round. At least as far liquidating in a disaster. It would be easier to prove the constitutional is silver. How are you going to do that with a 1/10 oz round. There is plenty of information on constitutional to back your claim that it is silver. On the rounds all you have is the weight and purity which can easily be fake. That being said, 99% of my stack is made up of U.S , Canadian, British and Australia minted bullion which can be faked also.

@@richardmetcalf2346 in the case you mentioned you would not have access to internet to prove anything and silver in general would likely be useless unless you happened to run into a fellow stacker. As there are multiple books out there from people that have lived through collapse like in Serbia and Venezuela and none of them used gold or silver for barter and if they had likely would just have been shot and robbed. metals are really only good in times of law. If there is a monetary reset and you can sell to dealers or banks or the government that is the likely scenario. in a full collapse or end of the world situation anything of too much value most people will kill you for and not barter. because if they see you have even a little silver they will suspect you have more and kill you to look for the rest

The only thing you didn't do, which is by far the *most* *important* thing about putting them to "the test" is to confirm that they do break evenly and hence really are 1g each. I'm really disappointed that you didn't bother to weigh even one of them.

Looking back on my spreadsheet, I bought an Emirates blister pack of 15x1g silver bars in early 2105 just for the reasons given. Costing £28 (spot price then around £10-11), equating to about £54/oz, I have to say it has not been a great investment. Still, it may serve its long-term purpose one day, even if for younger family. No regrets, win some, lose some, with other silver, gold and crypto bought, having more than made up. Update. Having just looked, one UK supplier is asking £5.50/gram bar, equalling around £170/oz), another £9.60, equalling around £297/oz (or £21 for a 1-off = £650/oz) and another, the same 15g set at £41 - none having any in stock. Crazy. I am quite shocked.

Great vid. I buy mainly Gold sovereigns but love to buy Silver as well. Silver isn't a great investment I buy 1oz coins and 10 x 10 combi bars because they look nice. Once bought shove it in the safe then once in the safe never remove it but rather buy more to look at them shove it in safe etc etc. Silver is so inexpensive but so nice looking .

question is, do they all weigh exactly a gram? Less of an issue with silver but can imagine might cause problems with the gold version...

I managed to get one of those a few years back for $144...when that was "expensive." Now they're $210+...so the premium really kicks ya right in the ghoulies, doesn't it? But yeah...when you get cash for christmas, you gotta put it into something, right? So last year, I got 5 more, because I was gonna crack one apart! And then I didn't. So maybe I should get 5 more FIRST, so that I can crack that one apart? But I'll probably leave it encased...again...dagnabbitt... d=^/

I like the metal detecting channels, sometimes 1/4 and half silver coins are found and the 1/4 pieces of silver are really tiny. The whole coins found had a cross on one side, perhaps to enable the cutting to be a precise as possible. So, these divisible bars are not a new concept.

There's a reason it's called Junk . It's dirty and worn . Has to be refined to use . Shtf scenario you will get a lot less because of this . 3 9's fine ahead of the line . Sell it get fractional .
