I love that you explain your reasoning for adding each component into the jar. I feel like I learned more about making jar ecosystems in this short video than I ever have reading annoying blog posts. *Subscribed!*

Why are so many Germans pronouncing the "th" with a "s" sound? 😢

Würdest du auch rote Springschwänze reinsetzen?
@glassyGREEN_
@glassyGREEN_ 7 месяцев назад

Sollte also passen, richtig? :)

Man that came up sensationally good! The perfect sized jar too. Not too tall! Talls ones are a pain to work in a lot of the time!

That's really true. This jar is just the perfect size. Unfortunately I don't have enough space to have several of these 😕

@@glassyGREEN_ How many litres would you guess it is? I can imagine a window ledge with a nice row of them 😂
@glassyGREEN_
@glassyGREEN_ Год назад
It is exactly 5 liters. But unfortunately I have a very small apartment and no north facing windows and will move in under a year. But then I can finally get something real big :)

@@glassyGREEN_ Similar situation to me by the sounds. Though I do get a decent amount of light most of the year. But space is a tough gig!

Incredibly appreciative pf your thorough explanation of the components. I make terrariums and palus myself but never knew why the case for aquasoil was so strong. A thousand thank you's! Subscribed!
@glassyGREEN_
@glassyGREEN_ Год назад
Thank you for your kind words. In this case, I find Aquasoil extremely helpful because it doesn't eutrophicate the water like worm castings could do. After a while it loses its nutrients, which should then be in the cycle of dying plant parts and springtails.
