To see people say they don't need braces but are getting them kills me. I am 23, and have been needing braces since I was 12. Family couldn't afford them. I now have a job with benefits, that shocker, don't cover braces. So I am finally going to start the process of getting them, paying for them with my own coin. Be grateful you get them, be especially grateful if you aren't paying for them, because some people have cried over not getting them, been depressed, been scared of smiling and pictures, and avoided looking in the mirror because of their teeth.
Sarah Martin I have the same problem I am 14 and need braces but can’t get them cuz of money and I hate seeing people who don’t need them but end up getting them ugh it just makes me so mad ! 🤬
I'm 17, got them yesterday because of some impacted canines. My mom didn't make me pay for them which was a blessing. I have double dental so all she paid was 1050.
Precious Torelle Telling people to follow the rules of the Bible is in fact forcing your religion on someone. And no shit, “oh my god” is a common phrase that people use when they feel shock, “oh my Allah” isn’t. You’re not going to bring Allah’s name into a conversation like that no matter if you believe in him or not.
@@tsedy77 I usually ignore religion and I know a few friends that are religious and as long as religious people mind their own business I'm usually passive. But people like you that get overly angry over shit like this there isn't any point. You are saying "Don't use Jesus' name in vain!!" like that is going to change anybody's opinion on Jesus. Again just if something that small is bothering you just keep it to yourself or go tell your Facebook friends about it. Nobody gives a fuck on youtube.
Orthodontist: “We will see you on Wednesday 17th July to get braces.” Me: *hunts for every single brace video while gathering food I can’t eat for 2 years* 😭😭😭
Noel G. OMG SAME. Since this was posted a while ago, have any tips for people getting braces? How to get over pain? Anxiety? Please answer, I'm really scared...
For those who just started having braces or about to go get braces: the pain is only temporarily, it lasts for 1-2 weeks, after that you can eat like before JUST DONT EAT REALLY HARD FOOD
They have Scholarship things you can fill out! The only thing is if they accept it, you still have to wait for up to 2 years🙁 I’m in the same position you’re in. I signed up for one but the wait time is soooo long.
fvnnypvp123 jones If you have a very high pain tolerance you will be fine i got braces on two months ago and it wasn’t bad, the “pain” is more just a subtle discomfort, nothing crazy but everyone is different, bring earbuds with you so you can listen to music, getting them on takes roughly two hours
fvnnypvp123 jones everyone handles the pain differently. when i got them 2 months ago, i couldn’t eat for a whole week and it hurted like hell but it gets better trust me.
Who else has their watch history full of braces because they are getting them soon? Edit: Guess what people I just got them (April 1st) right after my birthday =.= and yes they hurt in the begging but now like 1 week after I’m fine unless I eat something hard >.< (mah face >.
Mille Grace wish me luck I get mines next Wednesday on the 27th I'm so nervous cause I've heard how much they hurt. I'm ready to get them so I feel more confident but I'm scared due to the pressure and how much it's going to hurt.
@@elliecollinge150 No mine don't hurt me. 2 days before my appt I start taking 2 Tylenol every 8 hours. When I get my adjustment I hardly feel anything
They'll be a bunch of pain for about a week. It goes away though. For that week, do not touch your teeth since that hurts it. Use plastic spoons or forks of you bite the utensil. And don't eat solids. Eat soup. Take Motrin or Tylenol and try eating cold food to num the pain.
Ah yes.. the worst time in a person's life: Highschool -Braces -Loads of school work -Getting emotional for some reason -The time pimples come out to play
I’ve watched many videos of the process of getting braces. This is hands down the best informative video of the process. I literally got my braces tightened and I couldn’t see what was going on. But this throughly explained what happened during my appointment. Thank you for being so thorough
It only hurts for 3 days, it may be uncomfortable but you'll get used to it. Also after those 3 days , your teeth is gonna feel numb since it moved. But you'll feel better eventually, also applying braces doesn't hurt so don't worry if you plan of getting them, you'll be fine! Also your lips might SLIGHTLY change shape, but it won't be obvious. Also when you come back for adjustments you won't feel anything then the cycle continues until a year. So don't worry you'll only feel pain for approximately 3 days then when you adjust there will be no pain at all.
same here I just got mine and I can already eat rice and chicken on the 3rd day 😂 except that I cant bite with my front teeth, its still a bit painful it took a week to feel normal on that part
@@NotAffliction I’m 15, the application of the braces didn’t hurt at all, I actually didn’t realise they were already on. The most painful part was when they twisted the wires in place and even so that was because I had an ulcer next to it. It’s the hours after that we’re painful, you should eat in an hour before the numbness starts to wear off. Then I guess try and sleep, that’s my only regret lol. Fortunately I live in an Asian country where porridge is pretty common so there’ll be a lot of flavourings added to the food I eat.
You just don’t want braces you can’t even eat gummy’s and on the 1st to 3rd day it will hurt a lot but if something in your teeth is not doing what it suppose to do you might need braces
I got mine yesterday. The process felt pretty quick and I do not look half bad in them 😌 the worst part right now is soreness. You are not gonna wanna eat anything cause of the pain. It feels like you have a toothache on every single tooth. What helped me go through this was chewing with like the only back tooth and saying " I wanted these, and I want straight teeth."
Guys hey listen I used be sooo scared I had big anxiety yesterday when they were doing it it didn't even hurt trust me it only hurts after that is happening to me right now trust me it dosent hurt u womt feel anything it's actually really relaxing Edit:if it hurts drink cold water a lot and sleep dont eat hard stuff and u will be ok.
Me too I don't really know when i am getting them off but i think i'll get them off this year because my teeth are almost straight, hence all my crossbites xD
I just got braces and the pain is different to what I thought it would be. It’s not like a jaw pain it’s like each individual tooth hurts. Imagine drinking freezing water that’s what it feels like when you bump a tooth. It’s my second day and only now have the brackets started to create ulcers and bumps but WAX IS AMAZING. You’ll be ok guys
For those getting braces, There is no needles or pain when the braces are put on. You will feel pain 1-5 days after you get them and it will be sore to eat and I recommend eating soup and ice cream on the day that you get them. For me, I have a underbite and my teeth weren't perfectly straight, but mine straightened out really quickly and I was so pleased with them. It's fun choosing colours for your braces. Some colours that I have had are: silver, lavender + yellow, berry purple and fluorescent pink. I'm getting my colours changed tomorrow to Navy + clear. I honestly think it's fun going to the dentist and getting colours. Just remember do 100% as your dentist tells you and you will have beautiful teeth when your treatment is finished. Good luck to everyone getting braces. :)
Thanks! Just got mine 1 day ago, and the process was so fast and pain free. Woke up early this morning in pain, but it wasn't too bad, I took some motrin. It just feels so weird trying to eat though..
Thanks for explaining everything. I always used to wonder how a mere string is gonna straighten the teeth, but now you cleared that confusion up for me hehe
Im gonna get braces after christmas and I want braces for a long time but I always hear some people saying that "it hurts", "struggle is real", "you will have cuts on your cheek" and I'M SO NERVOUS BUT I THINK ITS VERY W. O. R. T. H. I. T.
Samee I've heard so many people talking bout the pain and how I'm gonna regret having them but girl... I know damn right I'm gonna love that pain that's slowly but surely fixing my smile. Nothing compares to getting bullied all your life for your teeth so fuck it
And Peggy I have braces it’s ok it does not hurt it will hurt a few days later cause of the braces pushing on you’re teeth but not that badly I have 4 teeth pulled that’s why I have braces and because my Chen is point back then normal so my braces are gonna make them even I bet yours is not bad I have to have braces for 2 years you can eat candy but you can’t bite it tho :/ but yea
I have wanted braces sooooooo bad but now that I'm getting them in 6 days I'm obviously gonna do lots of reasearch now I'm dreading them and this week is going way to fast which means closer to braces😭😭😭😭
After 5-6 years with braces I just got them off about 2 weeks ago..And I must say I sorta miss having them on my teeth but now no more braces face or train tracks 😂....lol jk but if you have braces it feels AMAZING without them and you're teeth are going to be BEAUTIFUL! Just take it from me I've had my braces for about 6 years and honestly I've never been happier with my smile or teeth! Thanks for reading!
+Uriel Munoz well my mouth is so small and the orthodontist was scared of crowding and I had to get like 8 teeth pulled and so yeah it took about 5-6 years to FULLY correct them
Kiimm yeah ur mouth will get used to it though, I just got my wires on after having my brackets on for 2 weeks because I had to get 4 teeth pulled and the wires are painfulllll like I haven’t eaten in 2 days 😂
@@daiseymiranda3622 it does and i couldn't eat for a few days but i promise it gets better, just stick with soft foods like mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, yogurts, soups etc...
The dude with a booger I’m getting them again because I was young when I got them the first time. That’s actually pretty common. I was supposed to get them about a month ago but the appointment was cancelled cause of corona
well explained. I am planning to have braces on this month due to over bite. this video made me feel comfortable as I heard a lot of stories that it hurts having it on. thanks for sharing this.
n i t r o g e n _ don't worry I've got them on and it doesn't hurt at all (while getting them on) it hurts really bad after u get them on but only for like four days lol, u should eat a lot of mashed potato and soup lol :)
I'm 53. The cost kept me from braces for 33 years. Of course, I'm terrified. But thank you for showing me what it will be like. So now the cost is still the scariest part, though getting them on is still a close second, but at least I'm not going into it next week without any knowledge. Thank you, again, for taking the time to post this.
I got a palate expander. It literally has taken me 18 months because I haven't been very consistent with turning it 😞 but I get my braces on in 3 weeks!!! 🙌🏽
I had an expander on too. Tomorrow I get my braces! I'm so scared. I hated having an expander it hurt cause I didn't wear it a lot. So now I'm scared that the braces will hurt when I get them on.
+Emilee Martin Good luck guys! I had to get them since I was 13 and I'm 16 turning 17 now. it sucks not having the money. I have an underbite, crowded teeth and my top canines are all the way up there lol. I feel so happy thaw other people get a chance to get their teeth fixed. XD That's why I want to become an ortho to help people like us. hope all goes well :)
the pain will go after 4 days or 5! dont eat hard food when you get them and when you get them tightened every month, after these you can eat normal food
I just got my braces off two days ago after having them on for four and a half years, now this is in my recommendations...RU-vid...what are you trying to tell me?
the only thing that hurts is when they get tightened. depending on how tight they are the pain varies. usually certain teeth that are tighten more than the other, you will notice. but don't be scared of them, they don't hurt unless they are being tightened.
I decided to have braces at age 30. Yep, my fam can't afford one before so I got it when I can finally afford to pay the treatment. Putting brace on teeth feels okay but wait until you get home. It's worth the pain. Still I would choose to have my teeth fix.
Rulexz - um ok I just got them for almost a week now it doesn’t hurt what’s so ever putting it on but it’s hard to eat like you won’t be able to each hard stuff and burgers I’m still not able to eat but pain there’s no real pain only in the first 2 days it feels like the sides are cutting your skin
I’ve had my braces on for three months now, the pain is hardly anything for me when I go and get them adjusted, and I’ve had no mouth irritation from the brackets thankfully. It’s worth it to save your money, the more you put down the lower the monthly payments! I have them on for about two years, but yes I’m already over it! Lol
I am getting braces this Friday on the 30th of Oct, any colour sugestions Update: I got my braces on about 6 hours and it doesn’t hurt that much but it feels uncomfy
