the real costume was a two or three person routine, so this was awesome to watch. vader tho did not remove all of this daily, he had a sealed container room where he basically just removed his mask occasionally. the pain and torture of the suit made his dark side much stronger, comfortable he was not.

TBH, I didn't know there was this many layers to the Vader costume. It looks a lot simpler than this... and I realize you've worked to simplify the process. That's crazy.

As an 80's kid that grew up during the massive resurgence of Star Wars popularity during the early 90's with videogames, toys etc, this is so cool to see. I literally watched either Empire or Return every day after school, for years. To say i've seen those movies hundreds of times aren't an exaggeration.

It's weird that I'm in my mid-30s and I'm watching a guy describe how to wear a real Darth Vader costume, yet here I am.

Being 6'6" and 260 pounds, I was regularly asked to be Lord Vader for the Seattle group. Trouble was they wouldn't ask until like a day ahead of time. It was kind of a drag as the guy they would get was like only 5'11" and I'm about the same size and build as David Prowse was in the movies.

before he put the helmet on I was like "ok he's still human." Then when he put it on, Darth Vader literally teleported to this universe.

Who would have EVER thought that some villain from a movie that came out nearly 50 years ago would still be so iconic today? Star Wars was truly revolutionary in not just cinema, but in culture as well.

I’ve done Vader a few times. By buddy built the costume for himself but when he got injured I had to step up. He made the undersuit for me but he helped fit his gear for me. I’m about 5 foot 10 so we used big motorcycle boots with a big heel and a lift. We use a 3 piece helmet design too with a collar and air bags for a tight fit. He came with me when we helped me into it. It felt awesome to wear it ( we use a light red tint on the lenses to obscure my eyes, and I went as far as to wear sith contact lenses). I enjoyed the charity events as Vader. To this day myself and my buddy switch off. One of us dresses as a Grand Moff, the other as Vader ( the grand Moff is the handler and watches for costume errors that can break immersion) hopefully after the pandemic we can go back to making kids faces light up

You seem to have the most important thing that others don't when it comes to Vader. Height.

Unfortunately, I'm "a little short for a Stormtrooper" and I have no business with a Vader suit, but I can appreciate the work that goes into these suits. Great Job!!

Lovely suit! I had the very special honour of meeting the real Darth Vader in the original suit at a toy launch as a kid, it was for a shop that sold the figures in Newport, Gwent. David Prowse was there and a huge crowd of people came to see him. I was a small kid and my aunt being very cheeky pushed her way right to the front with me as she knew i was Star Wars obsessed, my mother has a photo somewhere of me and my sister stood with Vader, with his hands on our heads lol. I recall i was too intrigued by his lightsaber on his hip and the box on his chest to be scared lol, i reached up and touched them lol. I'm 6 ft 2" these days but Vader towered over us in the pic back then lol!

I did see Darth Vader at my Local Comic Con in Rochester hosted by the 501st Legion. I actually got to duel with him with the lightsabers. It was awesome.
