I feel beating Carbuncle is luck-dependent. There was one game I didn't do a single mistake at all and just before setting my chain, the nuisance killed me. In another game I got 7 chains with time to spare and Carbuncle lost with 6 fever circles and didn't go to fever mode. 50% of Carbuncle fights are a guaranteed fail, even if you do *everything* right.

That was a very anti-climactic end to that little yellow bastard
