PUZZLEVISION Movie Alternative Route (Creative Control Animatic Gmod Remake) 

The Mr Puzzles Origin Story should still be coming later this month. Episode 1 of the Advent Arc should then follow it.

This is what Puzzlevision should’ve been. This video really gives Mr. Puzzle an ominous vibe which really fits his character when he’s first introduced in It’s Gotta Be Perfect. A being that is willing to destroy the livelihood of others for his “Perfect” show.

I wish they actually had something like this in the actual movie

The fact that Mr. Puzzles would rather disintegrate to ash than work with Mario to solve an issue Mario usually solves in his games really sums up his pettiness. I wanna see where this goes next. Speaking of which, how did Mario not become brainwashed?

I made a script for how this could relate for Mr Puzzles's next scheme. (Mario wakes up back at the showgrounds, not remembering what happened. He sees a destroyed pizza outside, remembering the infamous 2022 episode) Mario: Everyone, I'm sorry for ruining your world record! (Everyone turns to face him, but he notices that they're smiling and don't seem angry. Their smiles aren't the normal type either. They're more like the creepy emotionless sort of smile. Almost like corpses brought to life) SMG4: (In a stiff almost robotic voice) Why would we be mad at you? Meggy: Yeah, we love you Mario. We never want you to leave us. Bob: Besides, you make us happy! Tari: And why would we abandon you? We'd be devastated if you were left out. (Mario could only feel weirded out by this as everyone seemed... friendlier today. He could get SMG4 and Tari acting nice, but Meggy acting nice after that incident? Their voices also sounded... off. They way they talked sounded too drawn out to really come off as natural. Something was up. Mario went to SMG3's cafe where things seemed even weirder. Karen was working, but she was also smiling like the others. She didn't seem to be grumpy at all. What was going on?) Mario: Uh, Karen, is it just me or is something off about the others? Karen: (Creepily stares at Mario's soul with an unnerving smile) Why do you ask? They seem perfectly fine. Why don't you get some coffee? (Mario looks to see everyone else in the cafe looking at him with these blank smiles) SMG2: Yes Mario. You look tired. Why don't you just sit down and talk with us? SMG1: Indeed fellow meme guardian. It's good to rest after a tiring day. Kaizo: Would you like some cocoa to go with your coffee? Karen: Isn't it fun being happy? (Boopkins, Luigi, and Shroomy are playing baseball before turning to look at Mario) Boopkins: Hey Mario, want to join us in a fun game? Luigi: It'll make us really happy! Shroomy: Being happy is great for your health! (Mario is now officially freaked out. Something was just wrong with everyone. Their voices just sounded so lifeless and dull, almost like they were computers trying to simulate human speech patterns, but barely succeeding) Mario: No thanks. I'm gonna go to the mall! (At that point, Mario runs out and heads towards the mall, trying to rationalize the situation. Maybe everyone is just experiencing joy right now or perhaps they were sleep deprived while he wasn't. There had to be something going on. Everyone seemed off. It was like they were mindless robots. Hopefully, Melony could explain the situation. Once he arrived, he saw Melony hanging out with the anti cast, Luigi, SMG3, and Saiko reading manga) Mario: Melony, useless side characters, 3, and Saiko! Everyone is acting so weird- (He gets cut off when they turn around to stare at him with the same blank smiles) Melony: Hello Mario, would you like to join us in reading some manga? Mario: What's going on?! You all are acting weird! Kaizo: Weird? Mario, you must be experiencing stress. Come join us. Saiko: Yes join us in reading amazing manga books. Luigi: They'll help keep you happy by distracting you from reality. Whimpu: Yes, join us and be happy. Studies say happiness increases your life expectancy SMG3: The whole world is nothing but happiness. Melony: Yes, happiness is the best medicine the lord can offer us! Mario: (Nervously looks around) Uh, hey look at that, I gotta get back home! (He tries to run, but Luigi blocks him) Luigi: Don't go. I made a dinner reservation with a special someone. SMG3: Surely you wouldn't want to miss that would you? (Mario's eyes widen) Mario: Alright, I'll stay (He heads to the diner where Karen serves him spaghetti) Mario: Can't wait to see my big date! (A figure arrives at the table. It's Peach no longer mutated) Peach: Hi Mario! Mario: Hi Peach! (His eyes open wide as he is now freaking out even more. Not only did Peach have the same creepy smile and acting calmer than normal, but Mario remembered how last time she saw her, she mutated into a feral beast. How was she back to normal???) Mario: Uh, Peach, why are you no longer a mutant? I thought we left you in the demonic goop! Also, why aren't you nagging at me? Peach: What goop incident? Also, why would I yell at you? I love you since you make me happy. (By this point, Mario can't take it and goes into a breakdown) Mario: Stop please! This isn't making any sense! Why is everyone suddenly happy?! Karen, shouldn't you be grumpy? Why is Peach no longer a mutant?! Why is everyone acting all emotionless?! I am not happy at all! (Everyone turns to look at Mario, but their smiles are gone and they're glaring at him. The glares weren't the angry type though. All of his friends were just glaring at him with these blank expressions as if they were corpses) SMG4: Sorry Mario, but we are now forced to use this. Mario: Wh- What's going on?! Have you all lost your mind!? Meggy: Relax Mario, this is going to quick, but painful. After that you'll be happy like us. You'll forget your troubles. Mario: I don't want to be stuck as a happy person! I want to have emotions! Peach: But Mario, wouldn't you want to live in a utopia where you never have to worry about anything and stay with me? Your girlfriend? Depresso: Come on Mario, join us and we can live in a place free of trauma. No more death, no angst. Nothing but happy happy joy joy [Yes, I did a Ren and Stimpy Reference right there]. Mario: No! I want things back to what they were! (He breaks free and watches as the crew now turn to look at him) SMG4: We were afraid to do this (All of the crew members suddenly point their fingers at Mario and unleash screams that are more akin to sirens in an invasion of the body snatchers shoutout. Everyone in the mushroom kingdom begins chasing him all the while chanting "Imposter not Happy!" Mario hides behind a dumpster where he is grabbed by the real Tari who snuck into the digital simulation) Mario: YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE! (The light in the room turns on as Mario sees Tari, but this Tari is actually showing emotion that isn't just happiness) What do you think? Pretty clever huh?

This kinda leads to a theory that Mr Puzzles still has them trapped in a simulation. He's intentionally gaslighting them into thinking they are now free from his terror. Mr Puzzles already finalized the episodes before Mario corrupted them, explaining why we see characters like Karen in the shows even though she was never targeted by Puzzles personally. This ties in with another theory that Mr Puzzles was lying about why he wanted the crew. He didn't find their show to be stupid, but he knew that all of those characters were popular meaning they could help him make money by profiting off their adventures. There's another fact I should mention. Remember how Mr Puzzles states that Puzzlevision is an in universe show made to satisfy his programming's audience. The question is, who could this audience be? Well, prepare for a deep analysis, because the audience he's referring to are US, the viewers. Ever since IGTBP, Puzzles has been hijacking the channel and inspecting us to see what we enjoy about these characters. That's why he brought them to the showgrounds was so he could put them in a place where they are unknowingly under his control. He's setting SMG4 and his crew up for danger because it's entertainment, specifically entertainment he knows the audience will consume. Mr Puzzles hired One Shot Wren and Marty to start of WS and WOTFI 2023 as specials for us to consume, not caring about how the characters were affected mentally. Mr Puzzles wanted to see why these characters resonate with us to see if we would like the specials. We loved these specials which allowed him to control the channel, but Mr Puzzles failed to understand the bigger reason we resonate with these characters. If you thought it was over, the rabbit hole goes even deeper because I think the Mario we saw wasn't the real one. Rather, it is an imposter of Mario that Mr Puzzles made so no one would question his absence. Mr Puzzles based this Mario off of how he believed the crew viewed him; a wild unpredictable animal. The real Mario is still out there fighting off Mr Puzzles because he knows the war isn't over yet. Mr Puzzles probably took over the world already before the events of WOTFI 2023 and is just gaslighting the crew What do you think of this theory? It definitely makes sense to me

I kinda do wish in the movie, Mario could have treat Mr.Puzzles more like a threat than a pushover. This alternative route is great 👍

Mario: Look, I know how scary life can be, but this is the wrong way of going it! You should realize that you're forcefully turning these innocent people into mindless drones! You need to understand, everything isn't always gonna be sugar spice and everything nice! There will always be terrible moments, but those shouldn't determine our worth. We should remember that there will be hope in the future! Mr Puzzles: Hope? Hope?! Please, I've seen how people are. They're cruel and will abandon you at any moment. Why don't you ask your friend? Ever notice how they treat you like dirt? Mario: Well yes, they have at times, but I know they still like me and want to apologize for their actions. They did leave me before, but I risked my life to save them during the DMCA thing. You can't do this to everyone! It's violating basic human rights! These people and everyone I love are innocent. Mr Puzzles: You know the way they treated you at times reminded me of my father which makes me hate them more. Mario: You were abused by your father? I understand how that could affect you, but that doesn't justify taking your anger out on others! Mr Puzzles: Maybe. Maybe not. I honestly don't even remember my past. Not that it matters. Mario: I've seen guys like you who want a perfect world, but I am trying to make you realize that perfection isn't a healthy obsession. You need to realize that you're doing the wrong thing! Mr Puzzles: Me? DOING WRONG?! Please, you're just too stubborn to realize how cruel reality can be. With my powers, I can help people become better. No more sadness, no more anger. Just pure happiness! Mario: That's the problem. It's not healthy to constantly be happy. It's okay to be happy, but there's a time and place where sometimes it's okay to feel sad or angry. Those are natural emotions. You can't force people to act how you'd like them to. It's better to life in a world where stuff constantly changes than one where everything in monotonous and repetitive. I understand you have somewhat good intentions, but, please, you need to realize that you aren't doing it in a good way. (Mr Puzzles is pondering on that for a bit, but refuses the chance to redeem himself) Mr Puzzles: Shut up! I see what you're doing! You're trying to tell me that I'm wrong and you're right! I ain't falling for it! What do you think?

You really should do animations more often. You do a really good job with them and they can provide as much entertainment as your theories.

My frendh line

So basically this is a mix of a more classic style of SMG4 animation, bad writing for Mario (his dialogue feels forced), and a whole lot of the Creative Control animatic by Opossol just shoved in this. And it doesn't make much sense with what SMG4 has created in canon. It works in Opossol's work because it's supposed to be a prequel separate from the SMG4 crew's plot, but it doesn't work with the build-up SMG4 made in the Puzzlevision arc since this this is a completely different story inserted in this entirely different context without much thought. So, sorry to say this, but besides the animation this is pretty bad. The Portal reference is great and could have been in the actual SMG4 show, but that's also something taken from Opossol's animatic. Maybe it could have been better if you used your own ideas instead of relying so much on Opossol's work. The way you just just shoved it into the current story doesn't work in my opinion.
