I've always thought of it similar to the glam rock of the 80's. A lot of times it's to get noticed. A lot of super-pink-and-girly oshare kei bands tone down once they sign on with a more mainstream music label~
I loved him in Phantasmagoria, but this is a whole new side of him. lol I love them both. And is it just me, or did he somehow manage to get even hotter?
He's got a great voice -- it ranks with Mao's of SID. I wonder i'f they've even had vocal training or could read sheet music. They both have overtones in their voices which make me think they're in their early 30's. I've heard Mao is about 35; I'm not not sure how old Jun is.
Thanks they sound pretty interesting, but doesn't give me the Spiv States vibe that I can't get enough of, you know that (I hate to say it) hide sound except more hopeful and inspiring.
Jun is actually 29 years old as of right now. His birthday is on November 17th, so he will be 30 quite soon. Mao's voice in my opinion is better, but I prefer Jun on a daily basis than SID. By the way, Mao is 36. Wikipedia lists his birthday, but not his age.
IDK, I suppose only logical explenation is because they are free people and can do whatever they want ;) Majority of j-rockers will never look like manly men with so cute faces... Our grandmas couldn't wear trousers, now how many girls wears dresses and skirts?
Combination of two things, one they have less testosterone so to us westerners they look more feminine (androgynous actually). The second thing is that they try to push away from strict normal society, like we in the west have punk or black metal and all that. By looking all colourful they are being "different" and "extreme". Though onnagata (actually dressing like women like Hizaki from Versailles or Hiyori from Kiryu) comes from Kabuki and is a different level of gender stereotype breaking.
Kia Zi Shiru I'm a UK resident and i actually prefer the Japanese men to British men :) but if what you are saying is true, that could explain the smaller body frames. Westerners have broader body frames and the Asians have smaller body frames
Jrockers look like women because of tradition. Way back in the early years of europe and asian countries, a thing call kiboki theatre came in but only men played so young men played the women. There is why most jrockers look like women but if you ask me, i think its cool and funny cuz you can shiw your friend a jrock video and they will think the singers hot and then you tell them lol
I know a lot of girls with way more tasteless, cheap makeup... My answer: in japanese culture tpeople have to behave and look very formal and music, art is only field where they don't have too do that;P
KMKos89 I'm from UK and I understand your point about some of the females wearing cheap make up. sadly that is today's soiecity in the UK and the US. luckily for me I follow the Japanese woth the makemup and fashion :) apart from when I'm at work, then I have t tone down my make up
