I've looked all over for tutorial videos, how to's and/or ideas, to help me out with making decorations. I did find a couple of videos using PVC in aquariums that were functional but not much for appearance. Because I couldn't find anything to help me with this little problem I had (Not wanting to pay an arm and a leg for aquarium decor.) I couldn't help but wonder if there were any others out there with this same problem. Since I was already going to be creating something for myself. Why not, just set up my camera, document my work done and possibly help others. I can't possibly be the only one with this interest... Maybe... Either way, I'm happy with the way it turned out. These are awesome, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen made by hand, kudos to you brother.. I was going to use terra cotta pots and pipes but since seeing this set of 3 videos I'm going to make several myself, thanks for a great DIY making. Awesome job

+bob abraham ~ I used the hand-held grinder at different angles (4 cuts) until the hole was created. Then smooth out the edges with the grinder and sandpaper.

Idk if this will work, but u could try to put some rocks inside to weigh it down. Alternatively u could slightly bury it in the aquarium bed, that might prevent it from floating

+Emlin Schnathorst Jr ~ Acrylic paint (any brand), is non-toxic (fish safe).

I have a quick question, I made a dozen of these sanded and filled them all to look great with no sharp edges, I painted 9 of them with same paint in your video, it's been 6 days off drying I rinsed them off before I put them in my tank, I can rub the the paint off with a little rubbing should this happen, I know it's safe and nontoxic but the paint started getting milky and comes off a little, I didn't clear coat it yet, should I clear coat them, I heard you say you didn't to some of yours so I wanted some advice, thanks

Congrats on the dozen made! I haven't experienced the same problems that you're having, but the water parameters/chemistry of our tanks/homes differ and so will the hurdles we face. I've experimented with both, clear coating the project and not. Even putting a few clear coats on one of them. The projects with a clear coat last far much longer, yes. But the project with a few clear coats, hasn't needed touch-ups at all. I would try a clear coat or two, or more, lol. Allowing each coat time to dry. I hope this has been of some help to you. about making these for fish tank you have too use water proof paint and silicone other paint he is using is toxic to fish i don’t recommend it nice stuff but use your sense
