We are happy with the way it's turning out. So far no need to change anything. I did re-do the framing on the far wall but that was my own design. The plans don't really give precise guidance to the end wall framing. I will show that in the next video along with a link to the plans.
Nice job, all that electric conduit would cost too much to purchase in Ireland. I've seen another website that did something similar, pretty much the same design, but using SCH 40 1 1/2" pipe. this would cost less but I don't think you could go so high. SCH is not a European standard for PVC pipping but I think Class 7 Pipping is similar over here. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.
Ok, I got excited and started this project, fallowed every step...... looked awesome, was very happy until started to drill holes on top to put in 1" cross pipes, the 1 1/2 pipes cracked and broke in half from all the bending mention, 3 broke..... had to stop, will have to buy u bolts now, no way on going back and spend more money to buy metal...... Upset....

If you didn't want to build it so high, what would you recommend for PVC cuts....2 10" pieces and then what would be the third piece so that it wouldn't cause stress on the arch? Thanks.
Reducing the length of the pipes will lower the height but you will also have to adjust the width meaning you will loose some width. To calculate the width you will need to think of the arches as half of a complete circle then measure the diameter to determine the width. Hope that helps.
Definately wished you had given more details like the height, width, and length. I enjoy the vides alot.....but was hoping for slighlty more details. would have liked to know how you secured hip boards to pvc also as with Perlin.
Suppose it is a half circle, 30' length for arches, height would be 15 '. You could draw a circle on the ground and adjust the height you want and or increase the size of circle to get your best dimension. In the end it all depends on how tight you can bend the pvc.
The pipes are 1 1/2 inch. It's still standing after after 5 years. We are in Tennessee so winters are mild but we have gone through several ice storms and it has held up fine. This is the same size i want to build with the PVC. did you have any problems driving the anchor posts? I have very rocky soil. Has it held up against heavy winds? thx
We did run in to some tough spots but we were able to drive the posts in far enough. Thanks for the great info. I noticed you drilled the hoops after they are up. Is that because if you predrill the hole may cause the pvc to crack as it bends?
Actually, they were twisting and not lining up when we predrilled so we decided to drill after they went up. a bit of a challenge but it worked out okay
Yeah, you would have to add 2 more purlins. Not too sure if that would even hold it. You might be pushing the limits with a green house that big. I would probably use wooden walls and attach the PVC hoops across the top.

drilling the purlin and hipboard holes would be easier done on the ground rather than up the ladder i will be building a few greenhouses out on the farm in the next month nice design without fear of sideways wind so i will be copying your design right down to every nut and bolt

i would want to try build a hoop house which will be 53ft wide... is it possible to with pvc... and or how would u advice. my total area avaible is a a 53ft by 66ft
Any hardware store will have PVC pipe glue(also called cement) or you can buy it online. We used Oatey brand. It comes in several different strengths. we used medium/regular clear. Some people use PVC primer but we didn't use it.(I never have used it and I've never had pipe come apart. The glue comes with a applicator attached to the inside of the lid. You simply smear the glue inside the female end of the pipe and slide the pipe to be glued in. It bonds very quickly.

It is 39 feet long, 18 feet wide and 9 feet tall at the center. It can be scaled to whatever size you need by adjusting the width. (The height is half the width) I will have a building manual available soon, right here on my channel if you are interested.
