PVC Photodegradation Process 

Outdoor cables suffer the consequences of exposure to outdoor conditions such as light exposure, changes in temperature and humidity.
Photodegradation is a phenomenon where the UV light (with short view length) reacts and breaks the chemical bond C-C present in the polymers.
When it breaks, the two parts of the polymer chain become a free radical and they are really reactive. They react again with a new chemical bond C-C. It is the beginning of a chain reaction that starts the losses of mechanicals properties of the polymer.
