PX4 Storm TiN Parts Install Time Lapse

UPDATE: I've included a copy pasta that itemizes the things/steps I did for fellow PX4 owners that want to do this to their own gun:
"World Of Guns Disassembly" on Steam was a good guide for me to replace the trigger group and trigger on my own. This was also helpful for stripping down the slide and small parts.
The following stock parts I sent to Middlebranch Machine to be TiN coated:
Barrel (gloss gold)
Slide lock/release and decocker (matte gold)
Slide (matte black)
From the Beretta USA web store:
Beretta PX4 Storm Competition Trigger Group
Beretta PX4 Storm Solid Steel Competition Trigger
Beretta Fiber Optic Adjustable Sight Kit for pistol PX4 series
From Langdon Tactical:
Optimized Performance Trigger Bar (dramatically reduces trigger reset). I do believe this was added after I published this video. The stock trigger bar is black while the LTT bar is steel colored.
From Optics Planet:
DPM Beretta Px4 Storm Full Size Mechanical Recoil Systems (reduces muzzle flip)
Talon Grips
I used Tamiya Acrylic paints and markers left over from me painting Gundam Plastic Models to infill the lettering on the frame and paint in the Beretta logo.
The factory irons on the other hand are incredibly tight so you'll need the right tools or a gunsmith to put them in (Middlebranch threw in that service before and after nitriding the slide)
Noobcaking my way through Davinci Resolve as I learn the functions one at a time.
This is me installing my parts that have been Titanium Nitride coated by the folks over at Middlebranch Machine. Satin black for the slide, satin gold for the decocker, slide release and ejector, and polished gold for the barrel.
Also featuring the extended base plate by Springer Precision, which ups the standard 17rd capacity to 21rd
Audio is from some piano improv I did back in 2017

Hello. What holster do you use for px 4 compact?
@gunsngunpla
@gunsngunpla 3 года назад
This is the full sized PX4. The holster in the video is the Blackhawk Omnivore light bearing holster, which doesn't actually work all that well with the Inforce light pictured. I have an X300 that works with it. For running without a light, I have a Blackhawk Serpa holster that I train with.

Thanks! This is the Blackhawk Omnivore holster. If I'm being honest, the holster doesn't quite retain the PX4+light. Running around with it, there's definitely noticeable rattling, and I won't be doing any cartwheels while using this holster.

What fiber optic sight do you have on that Beretta or aftermarket?
@gunsngunpla
@gunsngunpla 3 года назад
You can search for "Beretta Fiber Optic Front Sight and Adjustable Rear Sight for model PX4 Full Size" and get it from the BerettaUSA website. Edit: Worth mentioning that the stock Beretta sights are on the gun extremely tight due to factory tolerances so if you don't have a proper sight pusher, it's better to get a gunsmith to do it.

@gunsngunpla
@gunsngunpla 2 года назад
@@JacksonWalter735 For the gold in-fill on the lettering I did several passes with gold leaf, and since it's recessed I haven't seen any noticeable wear. I can't recall if I top coated the Beretta emblem on the grip. I did a base coat of gold leaf covering up the entire emblem, then scrapped the paint from the outer circle with an exact-o knife, then used a tooth pick to put the red on the logo inside. There's some minor wear on the red after 1+ year of handling, and/or darkened discoloration from range carbon.

In what way is Tin better than the original steel parts, It does look Prettier though.
@gunsngunpla
@gunsngunpla Год назад
You're right, this is strictly an aesthetics change. The original slide coating was very shiny and would look splotchy if I got oil and carbon on it. Going with flat black/gold on the slide and gloss gold on the barrel results in a cleaner look imo.

Damn dude I have never seen a px storm look that good. Makes me want to dump some cash into my .40cal px4 storm sub compact. The thing is so damn ugly but I shoot it very well. If it looked like yours I would carry it all the time for sure.

@OEMPlus Год назад
you should try a 9mm version before you do that. 40's make everything worse.
@rthreat0895
@rthreat0895 Год назад
@@OEMPlus while in the military, delta force shot .40 cal in their pistols, which made a lot of dudes buy .40 cal pistols, then also buy a 9mm drop in barrel so you can shoot whatever was cheapest. Since then I'm pretty sure Delta switched back to 9mm since the cartridge has improved so much. Also .40 cal IS NOT ammo that is part of the Army ammo program, so it had to be bought on government credit cards $10k at a time which is a pain in the ass. Probably another reason to swap back to 9mm.

@gunsngunpla 2 года назад
It's really not that hard. Disassemble your pistol (I used World of Guns on Steam to learn how to do it), send the slide/decocker/slide release/extractor/barrel off to Middlebranch Machine for Titanium Nitride coating. Use some acrylic gold leaf paint to infill the lettering on your pistol frame. Add some Talon grip tape, and you're basically already there. I'm not an FFL so I wouldn't be able to receive your pistol to work on it, plus I wouldn't know how much to bill.

@michaelkerr9682 10 месяцев назад
How did you do the medallion on the grip. .
@gunsngunpla
@gunsngunpla 10 месяцев назад
Acrylic paints from Tamiya and Amazon with a small brush and toothpicks 1. Base layer of gold onto the whole thing, then use the flat of an exacto knife to scrape away the paint on the raised edges to reveal the black circle rim and emblem. 2. Tiny brush or toothpick to brush on an underlayer of mirror chrome on the emblem. This 3. A coat of red on the chrome after it dries. The reason for the chrome is that the red paint is so thin that the black base of the gun can makes the final color darker.
