update a few weeks later this mic works great when phantom power is turner off. Becomes very tinny when phantom is on. To avoid this, use the provided 1/4” XLR cable provided and use a DI box. Sounds awesome this way.
Checking out my new Pyle mic!! A sub $50 mic comparison with the Shure Super 55! Overall, awesome mic that is great for students or people looking for a fun mic with a killer vintage vibe!
Overall louder and boomier than the super 55 and has a lot of plosives but is definitely its own thing!

We use one of these at our low power FM oldies station with an inexpensive pop filter. For an inexpensive mic, it does quite well for our purpose.

Same settings? Damn, that Pyle sounds pretty good for a podcast/radio mic.

diregremo yeah it’s a really hot mic. Problem is it can’t be in a board with phantom power. The wind screen is also a little weak but as far as heat goes, it’s great for simple stuff.

Revisiting for a rewatch of this video, saw the "update a few weeks later" note in the Summary section. From online reads, I was under the impression that a dynamic microphone being passive (no active electronics to power as they are electromagnetic by design) didn't need phantom power to perform optimally. Phantom power being optional, wouldn't break/damage a dynamic mic, that phantom power is more for ribbon & condenser microphones.

Sounds pretty much the same to me. The Pyle is louder.

Every cheap mic sounds louder, makes people confuse it for clarity. The difference is when you post-process.
