What's up everyone! I'm super excited for this video with Taku (Outdoor Chef's Life) and his girlfriend Jocelyn! We had a slow day of fishing, but got a giant and had a great meal! I've never eaten a fish out of Pyramid Lake so it was a super cool experience for me! Here from Taku's vid--great stuff! Just wanted to give a chopstick pointer, hope you don't mind. If you grip the sticks higher up, like closer to the tops rather than closer to the points, you'll have a *lot* more control over them and will be able to grab things much easier. Might be a good tip for your wife as well if she has trouble with them. It's the main mistake I see most people make w chopsticks.

I appreciate it a ton! To be honest, the chopsticks I was using were a pair Taku had that actually broke down in the middle, and when I used them from the top like you’re saying, they kept falling in half😂 In my defense, I was doomed from the start! Haha I appreciate the pointer and I know it’s from a place of love and not criticism! Thanks David👊

Thanks for the video but please...please...please don't lift fish by the tail. The bigger the fish, the more damaging this is to their backbone. If possible, gently release the fish without lifting it out of the water. Thanks again

Thanks for sharing your fishing skills, learned something new on how to retrieve the line. As far as cooking and collabs are concerned Taku and Jocelyn are a pound for pound the Best combination any one can ask for ; their vibe is great, cooking amazing . 💕 👍 🎣

I really like this set up. What was the final braise juice? I''ll be fishing with Nick end of March, I have every intention of eating fish, probably take one or two within the slot limit and cook whole.

Those trout were so cool! I had no idea cutthroats got that big! Were you using stillwater nymphs for those guys? And was that a center pin reel you had on your rod? It looked strangeeee haha

Hahaha thats a loop reel. Basically just a huge arbor fly reel! and yeah the usual stillwater nymphs! Balanced leeches and midges!

what state is this.. i thought maybe californias pyramid lake.. thats near me(though i fish castaic) but then when you said big trout im like.. wait thats not here but maybe it is but i dont think so... lol.. sick vid and fish though. we do get trout here but they are just planted in the winter months.. coming up soon.. but usually i just go out and look for trout holding tight to shoreline to try for big largemouth or stripers. that are making the trout hold tight to the shore.. take care. and gl out there. taku a cowboy at heart.. using whiskey with fish..

I'm pretty new to fly fishing and I haven't had much luck at pyramid the last few times I've been out there and I'm going again on Sunday, do you recommend just trying a pyramid beetle straight to my leader or throwing a nymph set up with an indicator?
