F# pedal tone while the chords go up in phrygian mode from F# to G to A. But what makes this interesting is the timing! It's just 4/4. But he's hitting times that throw you off if you aren't counting. Amazing, really. Thanks for the tut!

Yes 😉I advise you to listen to the song once you are able to play the chords. I did break in between the rhythms for some parts and not for others.

Sounds like you're using the same duration for every chord instead of alternating to create the swing (3 3 4 3 3 3 3 4 3 3 3 3 4 etc.). Or at least I can't hear it.

The right hand is playing A6, which is A major plus the 6th degree. The 6th is there because you keep playing the top F# through most of the chords, which is why you also get a Gmajor7.

The left hand isn't playing chords as such, it's playing the bass notes, plus the root of a chord, which your right hand takes over. So really it's the bass notes A and E plus A6, G and D plus Gmaj7, etc.
