I take the R2 small out for the first time. This thing was a blast on the Upper Gauley getting stern roasted everywhere. I will do a full walkthrough and Eddyline rating review at a later date. All I can say is preorder one NOW. CKS can dial you in! For now enjoy some raw and natural footage/ sound in this lovely boat and river.

Great content as always! The Small Ripper 2’s stern looked like it was loading up on you a lot. How does it compare to the small rewind in that area?

Thanks man. I would honestly say pretty equivalent but the ripper has more knee room and it’s like a play toy on stern squirts. I can easily flatwater it.

I’m 5’9 148. I have a medium rockstar 4, a medium rewind, and a small code. I ordered a small rewind last October, and it still hasn’t come in. I primarily paddle class 3/4 rivers around New England, dryway, took, lower winni, etc. I’m looking for something more playful than my medium rewind. Should I continue to wait indefinitely for a small rewind, or should I get a small ripper2? I’ve spent a couple days in a small rewind. Is the small ripper2 worth pulling the trigger on, before taking it for a test drive?

In my opinion it is more playful than a small rewind. And for what type of river your running you would be fine in it. Obviously if your a huge fan of dagger outfitting your not getting that with any Pyranha. But the ripper 2 is way more playful.

Hey Matt, awesome video. Do you think the small or the medium would be best for those more in the 150 Ibs range?

Short answer it depends. I am right at 145 and the small is awesome. Can flatwater stern squirt it and it handles most big holes decent. You will be roosted on the tail though just due to the sheer lack of size of the boat. I would be fine taking it down class 5 big water and creeking it but I would probably bump up to the medium for big boy creeking and anything like the north fork payette class of big water. Hope this helps. I have both and plan on keeping both.
