Asalamualaikum Picky i have a question for you, i had a white fuming nitric acid and i belive the concentration is around 90% above but i watch a video about people who buy 60% nitric acid and that's already fuming, how to know exactly what my nitric acid concentration its?
First you can measure the density and look at the table for concentration . Second you can take a small sample and add a small piece of copper to it if it reacts vigorously you can make sure it's not +90% conc
@@PickyPlans Hello picky i weight my nitric acid and 100ml nitric acid is weight about 121gram, that's mean my nitric acid concentration is just 40% but why that's white fuming?
@@PickyPlans I can believe this i though my nitric acid is really concentrated almost anyhydrous but really the reason is because it reacting with the mixture in the air? Because its really fuming bro open that is a death sentence i have fuming HCL, H2SO4, and the nitric acid i always use that as a nitration procces, do you have another test to know the concentration, how about dilute it until 68% or 2.4 mol and then reacting it with the urea so 10ml 2.4mol nitric acid reacting with 7.2 gram of urea because that's the way to make urea nitrate and if the urea is percipitate that mean my nitric acid is "real" fuming stuff.
