Loooooved the end of the first Tron match where chat is freaking out about time with under 2 min on clock and Seth is just like 'Nah guys, we're fine'.
Also chat freaking out about scooping to that Goryo's Obzedat when all four bolts were in the graveyard and there was literally nothing else you could draw that would do anything.
UR pyro player here. Even though my deck includes delver for early presure, wouldt be better in this deck remand over mana leak? I see this quite better when there is a pyromancer in play. And what about Cryptic Serpent/Bedlam Reveler as a late game finisher? I see those cards amazing, being Cryptic Serpent waaay better in aggro decks and Bedlam Reveler in control (like this one).
Against Burn, if you hold up Cryptic you could counter a burn spell and bounce the Swiftspear and survive. Plus gain life from his spells and if he recasts Swiftspear.
Bailey Rose Spells on the stack having "x" in their mana cost count the "x" as the amount paid. Seth paid 2 for x, x+1 ie 3 is not equal to the number of charge counters on Chalice.
I think you could've lived if you left Cryptic Command up at 2:41:38 instead of playing Chandra. He had 1 card in hand, so assuming the worst of double Boros Charm with his next draw, the following would happen (assuming that since the opponent played 2 Skullcracks already, a third Skullcrack would be highly unlikely; also fetching out only WR lands indicates the opponent is probably not Naya Burn, so Atarka's Command is out of the equation): Play Flooded Strand --> Crack it, fetch a basic Island --> Go to 2. Pass the turn. Opp. Cast Boros Charm --> 2 Dragon Claw Triggers (Go to 4) -- > Counter Boros Charm with Cryptic Command, bounce Swiftspear Opp. Casts Swiftspear --> 2 Dragon Claw Triggers (Go to 6) Opp. Casts Boros Charm --> 2 Dragon Claw Triggers (Go to 8) --> Take 4 (Go to 4) Opp. attacks with Swiftspear --> Go to 2. You survive 2 Boros Charms to the face.
People complaining about Obzedat. It say you may exile it, therefore a legit target with Jace's ultimate. Besides at that point the game was won and would not have mattered what he searched for.
its interesting how so many people have the same question. Since seth paid x=2 the spell is 2R on the stack. I know this is a bit weird, but search gatherer. It will say the very same thing for all X spells, that its casting cost changes while on the stack based on how many mana you pay for x.
people in chat can be soooo annoying at times, like game 1 match 2. And the match before. This one guy just keeps saying terrible plays and keeps doing !punt commands when seth doesnt do it. But love the deck and nice vid.
Agreed. Although Seth does make some super dumb plays quite frequently for which he deserves every single punt command that it elicits (and more, honestly) :P
even when seth makes actual punts (and I agree he makes some massive punts every now and then), I don't think the wall of "!punt"s is at all necessary. the purpose of pointing out a punt should be to help improve the person as a player. just saying "punt" is not at all contributing to that cause. and letting it be a thing just fosters an environment where people say "punt" just for the sake of it... which it did
The punt command is there to be cathartic for the viewers. It can be frustrating to see the streamer make big mistakes and rather than screaming at them for that it's contained to typing a single short word once.
*shrugs* Considering they're not the one actually playing, I personally don't understand why it's so frustrating, they need to spend the effort of typing on a keyboard. And I don't think the !punt command as it's currently used is any better for the environment than normal yelling. But whatever, I don't follow the stream live and Seth doesn't seem to mind anyway
"Scoops" is the name the community decided for the MTG Goldfish mascot. So a "Big Scoops cheer" references the emote that has the fish with his cheering fist (fin?) in the air.
why play u/r when jeskai is strictly better?....access to path, spell queller, wrath, helix, etc... this looks kinda forced edit: I also dare to say: in a deck with so many cheap spells, logic knot is almost always better than mana leak
"Least impactful punt of all time?" Playing the extra land would of let you gearhulk the next turn. Killing wirmcoil and potentially drawing with electrolize. Then you just need to find an answer to endbringer and the two 3, 3s. And not even immediately. Such a huge punt don't under pitch it.
Matthew Mills, even with the extra land, he would have had a torrential gearhulk on board against a 5/5 and a 6/6. To kill the wormcoil, he would have need to flashback a burn spell and chump block with torrential. That still leaves 2 3/3's and a 5/5.
