I read a comment on Wendigoon’s 2nd Mandela Catalogue video basically theorizing that even though the “woman” alternate who called Jonah and Adam didn’t sound unhinged, she still hasn’t completely mastered our language. The comment suggested that the alternate misunderstood them saying “We can come tonight” as “two nights” and then proposed that they stay three nights. It’s also implied that the alternate that called them is the same one that killed Cesar, his mom, and Mark (since the alternate and Cesar’s mom share the same voice actor, and that it used her voice to lure the two to Cesar’s old house)
I think it’s really interesting how at the beginning it says the alters use psychological war and you see that come up over and over my favorite example is when they taunt Jonah for running away and you can tell it’s actually working

Because it became popular during a critical moment in the globes history, the pandemic, when most people were ordered to stay inside. With people staying inside, and the game being free on phones, everyone who missed their friends started playing it with them. Then it died because people realized that all it had to offer was "you're sus, and maybe my other friend is sus" But since it was so popular so quick, everyone remembers it, even if it died quick from it's simple premise. Basically TLDR; game got popular during pandemic, smash hit, died super quick, small game big impact.

To be fair, a lot of the stilted and awkward feeling in the dialog is entirely deliberate; it's meant to show that the speaker is already an alternate. That particular scene doesn't have that excuse, but a lot of the rest does.

What I would guess, is that the Police does not help callers to help with an Alternate as the caller themselves could be Alternates and as Mark tried to shoot the Alternate with a Deagle, we can safely say that regular Police Standard Issue weaponry will have no effect on Alternates so there would be no reason to risk officers lives with Alternate encounters.
This, along with the fact that in the first one after just being in the same house as someone it was able to track them all the way to their house, I imagine if this happened to a police officer and they followed them home, assimilated(?) them and pretended to still be an officer they could potentially destroy the entire police department. Another thing could be the police officers are already alternates at this point and just want themselves to spread more.

The woman, clearly an alternate, asked if they could do 3 nights when the victim said "tonight", misinterpreting it as "2 night" While the alternates can comprehend language, they can't fully understand it thus why they get confused sometimes

I had high hopes for Mandela Catalogue because it looked really interesting, and while it is overdone, the concept of humanoid creatures living amongst us is pretty chilling! And while it left much to be desired, I think Alex’s behavior outside of MC is more telling. I remember when Wendigoon covered MC, Alex reached out and literally told him he was willing to explain the entire lore of the series, but Wendigoon declined. Not to mention his (admittedly lackluster) satire series of MC, and how in this stream he himself says “the beginning isn’t good but trust me it gets better.” I don’t say it as a way to be hateful, but it just reads as insecurity, and I think it would’ve been better had he not approached it with satire and self-deprecation and instead just worked to make the story better on its own. But I’m curious to see where MC goes in the future! Best of luck to Alex! :)

Yeah I feel like the series isn’t as scary because he interacts with the community a lot, and when you watch the videos you start becoming more aware about how it is completely fabricated. If he kept up a more cryptic presence online, the series would be scarier.
