"it is better to right clean code than compact code, which impresses NO ONE" couldn't agree more! It really sucks how some coding tutorial forum users show really compact codes to beginners like they're suppose to understand that crap.
@Steveburn88
@Steveburn88 4 года назад
For beginners that might be right. But there comes a point in time, where your programs become bigger and bigger. And then, compact and clean aren't disjunct anymore. Like one line list comprehension instead of 3 line for loops is better to read in big programs.
@hanspijpers2100

return (feet * 12 + inches) * 2.54 is one line but not too difficult to read I suppose? and it works like a charm I try to come up with a solution before the teachers does (and we have a pretty good teacher I might say. So keep up the good work maybe a tutorial of Python in Visual Studio Code?? I agree with Party MCFly on this kind regards Hans, and keep up the good work

@Socratica - I have been teaching intro. programming for 20 years, and using your videos in class since you started. I often re-watch them to be sure they still reflect my own teaching practices and conventions. Every time I laugh out loud and am astounded at how much practical detail you pack into each short segment. Well done - I'm sure you have inspired and helped hundreds of my students over the years. thank you so much - you are a gem.

Much much much better than every other function video I've seen because it uses good examples people can relate to. Everyone else is making 'how to' function videos using bizarre examples. I swear most tutorial makers are trying to show off because they know something you don't know.

As shown by Socratica, all learning will be presented in this very form on the human species' achievement of Level 1 on the Kardishev scale. However, ... It is clear that Socratica's careful, concise lectures come from an even further future we all must strive for: through diligence in our training, precise naming conventions, and doc strings enveloped with triple quotes for every function.
