Sadhu Bhante! love all the questions. I wish the "Gaza " related questions would stop ( I've seen a lot of them in last few sessions) .It distracts from the main message. And dialutes the main theme of practice. Sometimes political questions like these effects the santitty of fellow retreatants as well as future listeners.

Dear Ajahn, Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom and sharing your insights related to actual events. I think a lot of us worry about what's going on, I assume quite a lot of us living in Europe with 2 wars close by, and some that somehow ended (Middle East). I don't think I have ever seen such a request here, but I would like to ask you if you could please say a prayer for our cat Bob. We had him euthanized yesterday and we hope he has the good karma to advance towards developing bodhicitta. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Hoping your cat Bob is reborn in a good place and meets with Buddha’s Teachings, meets with well-practiced and fully Realized Teachers, and steadily grows on the path of sila-samadhi-pannya - until final liberation.

Hello from N.Y. ! I just want to say.... I love your channel man lol. I started out as a sangha member / Buddha Dharma practitioner in the infancy of my spiritual life. Probably approximately 20 years ago. & I still do practice daily. Regularly. ALTHO 'religiously speaking' I'm a Lil' bit more inclined toward `Vaishnava Dharma / Bhakti Yoga`/ etcetera; etc. these days....which HAS NOT IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER changed ANY THING! I'm still a disciple of The awakened one very much so. I see no conflict....I see no resistance between the 2 approaches to liberation. Personally. Idk why necessarily I just felt like saying lol. You're a great teacher and I love your videos Is somehow the Point here!...KEEP IT UP PLEASE. YOU DO GREAT WORK! 🙏💙🕉♾️💬

It was the reverse for me. I started my spiritual journey with the Bhagavad Gita and ended up at Theravada Buddhism. Hare Krsna and Namo Buddhaya to a fellow seeker. Wishing you the best in your spiritual journey.

You are such a good teacher...but I am disheartened by your teachings which, in part, contain political discourse. I do not feel our personal opinions should reside in a Dharma talk. And I am American and have noticed how often you choose to look at America in a light that is negative. It is not about ignoring the state of where we are with our suffering but I connect with your teachings for the Dharma.

I had a different reaction than you did. I heard Ajahn point out the delusion in how people typically view and understand politics, and that the political realm is not how it is presented to us. I heard him highlight that how most people think and speak about politics, even if they are well meaning (and not using it as entertainment, or as a way to signal virtue, or as a way to bolster the ego) actually just creates more suffering. In my experience it is rare to hear such uncompromising truths, and so refreshing!

I have to slightly disagree on your comment about autistic people. From my experience they feel empathy but just show it in different ways. Thanks for the teachings Ajahn 🙏🏻❤️💎

Dear Ajahn. Your answer to the first question was exceptionally articulate & informed. However, the Buddha did not generally teach the Four Noble Truths to laypeople. The Buddha exhorted the monks to go forth for the benefit of the world, gods & humans. While bhikkhus should not take sides, surely bhikkhus have a duty to address what is moral & immoral. In fact, surely much of the ethics of the world historically arise from religion. If monks keep silent, will not the moral values of the world decline; just as we observe in the West, with the decline of religious principles, there is the rise in lawlessness.
