While watching this creepily on my computer, I had the following thoughts: -I would also appreciate a light metering video -It takes at least 3 beer for me to not hate my own work -That caribou/elk/deer/whatever shot is amazing
Man, you have one of the coolest channels for film photography on youtube. Love your content (vlogs and also camera and film infos) . Can't wait for the next upload. Keep up the good work
looking at that cat keyboard made me recall war flashbacks from the time i went to the cinema to watch Cats. i’m still recovering with my therapist so i would appreciate it if you have a trigger warning beforehand. JEEZ
If you ever gonna make a Q&A again I would love to know how you handle it with digital and analoge on trips/travel? I personally find it pretty hard to decide if I shoot that scene digital or just grab a film camera. And always bring more stuff than I should.
Hey Jason, love your channel! Incredible photos. Also like the humour. I just bought a digital camera to cut back film costs. Fujifilm X70, love it. Anyway, thanks for your content, big inspiration!
Can you do a mamiya 7 review? Also thank you for featuring my question bro🤙🏻 also, mayonnaise is an instrument, you just have to shove your foot in the jar repeatedly to produce a sound...maybe that should be a video 🤔
Edward Hopper - Great to hear another photographer enjoys his work. He’s been one of my favourite artist since I found him a year or so ago.. Nerdwriter1 does an excellent visual essay on Nighthawks - one of my absolute favourite paintings, and a real inspiration for my photography.
Late to the show, but really agree with 5:50. Wish I hadn't chucked my first strips of film... I guess when going from digital to analog all the grain and floatyness seemed underwhelming to me, but then later I wish I had only scanned properly. What's your relationship with your negatives like now? I keep them all rolled up together in a tin can so they can't glare at me...
It took me 26 years to learn that my scissors don't suck, I was just using them wrong. As a lefty, the way you normally use scissors pushes the blades apart instead of together.
My guess is large format, maybe a 4x5 you can use handheld like a speed graphic, or a later super graphic? Hopefully i'm wrong so you don't drive the price up...
try doing a video where you play with different filters. some of them are inexpensive (polarising), some are more expensive (there was this filter used in cinematography that makes everything look dreamy), but all can be impactful if used correctly (not an UV filter though)
Oh man, I made a similar mistake when it comes to not keeping old negatives. At least I saved some best frames from my early rolls, but getting rid of the rest still feels dumb to this day.
Pretty late to the Q&A but do you have any suggestions on where to send film off to get it developed? I watched this a week ago and don't remember if you went over that- thanks!
Yooo, you answered my question, thank you! I think I'm going to have to start a fundraiser to acquire an Xpan and a homeless persons cup to really test that answer now..
Can you make more history 'documentaries' like the one you did on the moon landing and sketches like the photo challenge 2019? That shit was inspired. Channels like yours made me create my own. Thanks man!
My local photography store has one of those elusive golden Hasselblad 500cm for sale - mad spendy and definitely rare as hell, but it looks kind of cheap in the flesh imo
I would rather pay $20 to watch two seconds of a grainydays video than be paid to watch a Willem Verbeeck video. Jokes aside, fuckin love the channel. And is the camera a Contaflex Super BC?
Do you ever print in a darkroom? Have you ever printed in a darkroom. If not, that may be your next thing although you may feel about it the same way you did about film photography before you started shooting it.
