Ward is the editor of 'Creation and its Causes', a remarkable collection of early lectures by Meher Baba. Peter is the writer and producer of the biographical documentary, "God in Human Form - the Life and Work of Avatar Meher Baba."

Wish I could quote the origin of this example, and wish I knew if it is true, where a soul trying to eliminate sanskaras in order to achieve God Realization is like trying to eliminate a huge pile of straw, one straw at a time, but each time one destroys a straw, at least one more sanskara is formed! Until the Perfect Master comes along and incinerates the entire pile in an instant!

I believe that the story of how Ravana chose the role of opposing Lord Ram was related by Sadguru Ramakrishna and is related in His biography.

I don’t think Baba ever studied the works of philosophy and literature that he frequently referred to. How did he know what was in them?

He would of learnt a lot about Sufism from his father and his disciple Dr Ghani and about Vedanta and Hindusim from his master Upasni maharaj. Also the general oral tradition.
