We asked for questions from our Friends and Family and got some really great questions about how WE deal with Tourette Syndrome and OCD.

We've experienced the #1 questions where my son would stop when the teacher asked him to. Problem was he was actually holding it in and it caused headaches and a spiral effect of tics when he got home. I love how you are so open with each other. Jayden is learning to open up more to us and help us understand how he is feeling because as we know TS isn't just tics! great q and a session

April, you are wise beyond your years! Salina, I love that you let April tick as long as it is not harmful. I would think that trying to make someone stop ticking every time he/she would tick could make that person feel he/she is doing something wrong. Having Tourette's is part of what makes April, April. It is nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. It is just like some people have brown hair and some have 2 different color eyes. I struggle with generalized anxiety disorder. I never know when my anxiety is going to be triggered, nor do I know how heavy it will be. I have had a hard time the last couple months with anxiety to the point of not wanting to talk to anyone or leave my home very much. I accept that anxiety is part of who I am. However, when I'm in the middle of an anxiety attack and I don't understand why I'm having an anxiety attack, and I cannot stop the attack, I feel very frustrated and trapped. April, do you feel like that? If so, how do you handle that feeling? I shared my experiences because I understand things by finding some way to relate to how someone else might feel. I believe that is how I, as an empath, connect to others. April has good days and rough days. I can only imagine that having parents that support her and understand her struggle, comforts her. She has a safe and judgment free place to be who she is. I am continually amazed by you, Salina. I think you are a phenomenal mom and you are raising some great kids! I'm also convinced that April is a very old and wise soul living in a young girl's body!
